Great Songs, Epic Show !!!!
mehrab-80110 February 2012
Queensryche is one of the very few surviving rock acts of today from the 80's metal music scene and Operation: Live Crime certainly showcases their quality and depth in music.

The full show is basically Queensryche performing their concept album Operation:MindCrime in it's entirety. The album storyline revolves around the character Nikki who is a junkie and a killer for the underworld, Dr.X a powerful underworld Head and Nikki's boss, and the controversial Sister Mary.

Geoff Tate and the other members did a great job of delivering not only the music live but also the emotions required for unraveling the concept behind the album.

This is a great live show and anyone who is a fan of the original album would love to it watch over and over again.

A must see for Queensryche/Classic rock fans.....

STANDING OVATION! - (10 stars out of 10)

The stage curtains open ...

Queensrÿche's "Operation: Mindrime" is one of the finest metal albums ever recorded. Back in my single years, a friend handed me a copy of it on cassette tape (yep! I'm that old) and said, "Listen to this. You won't regret it". And listen to it, I did. Over and over and over again. Even now today, I listen to it.

The operatic metal album centers around Nikki, a recovering heroin addict who is brain washed into doing underhanded deeds for Dr. X and his underground organization. Assassin by name, Nikki becomes confused when he meets and falls in love with Mary, a former prostitute who becomes a nun. When Dr. X orders her to be killed along with the priest who took her in, Nikki becomes conflicted. He goes to Mary but finds her dead already which takes him over the edge. He is finally apprehended and placed into custody in a mental hospital where all the memories come rushing back.

I saw this concert live 3 times back in the day and absolutely loved it. When I saw the release of "Operation: Livecrime" which is the entire album live, I was first in line. The band has never been in better form giving us the best performance of their careers. Geoff Tate was on top of his game screaming out with power and conviction giving us a memorable and emotional experience. The stage props and lighting was second to none for its day.

This comes at the highest recommend possible for the metal enthusiast. And for the Queensrÿche fan, I don't even have to tell you. You already know. If you've never seen this band live and want to, this is the place to start. Of course, Geoff Tate and the band have split up since then, but this takes us back to their prime. A perfect 10 stars out of 10.

The Best Concert Film of ALL TIME !!
GarakStarkX26 April 2022
Queensrÿche: Operation Livecrime is simply the best concert of all time.

As much as I love Radiohead, Hendrix, The Who, Pearl Jam and other great rock bands, none have released a concert film this perfect. The magnificent performance, the incredible songs and lyrics ... WOW.

The lyrics are so brutally honest about the politics of America. And this was written in 1989, long before the internet, alternative media and discussion of the 1% that rule the country.

"Spreading the Disease" Religion and sex are powerplays Manipulate the people for the money they pay Selling skin, selling God The numbers look the same on their credit cards Politicians say no to drugs While we can pay for wars in South America Fighting fire with empty words While the banks get fat And the poor stay poor And the rich get rich And the cops get paid To look away As the one percent rules America.
