Good entertainment value
nothatsnotme30 September 2006
I hadn't read the advanced publicity so the twist in how he tries to hang on to his house came as a surprise - an entertaining one though.

A few 'laugh out loud' moments but mainly a good slow burning comedy/drama. 2 good hard punches on the nose for 'rats' added to the entertainment value.

Knowingly or otherwise, the writers seem to have taken from Alun Davies/Jonathan Creek characters to build a persona that I liked and believed in.

When it ended, I wondered whether it was the first of a series or a one off. A series I hope as there seem to be enough loose ends to make one viable.

Would Love to See More episodes!

I had heard this was to be a series (according to Red Production Company) and I loved the first episode.

If more episodes were filmed I hope they will eventually be aired or released to DVD.

Alan Davies is a great comedian but also a talented actor and this comedy/drama gives viewers an opportunity to see the full spectrum of his skills.

"Raymond Fox" as portrayed by Mr. Davies will indeed make you laugh at times but rather than being a one-dimensional comedic character "Ray" is a man struggling with painful emotions and needs.

Because rejection, envy, grief, and the fear of being alone are struggles that we have all experienced at some point, "Ray" is a character that almost anyone can empathize with.
