Polly is dealing with a suspicious death by drowning of a young lad.
It's a hard hitting episode, a very serious, heavy storyline, which doesn't hold back. Writer Michael Russell delivers a cracking script, it is strong in every area, he penned some great episodes of Midsomer Murders, and a cracking Foyle's War, a shame he didn't write more than just the two episodes.
Polly has been good since starting, but Geoghan shines through here, she's kind, sincere, her connection on screen with Mark's parents was really good. The duo of Cryer and Paige was very strong, who needs CID?
It's really sad, but it's a terrific watch, more going on than first appears, 9/10.
