- From the dual police and internal FBI investigation into her fatal shooting of Dayton, Ohio serial rapist William Lee, Greenaway is totally exonerated, the shooting deemed self-defense. Hotch still decides to place her under psychological evaluation as her actions in that case lead him to believe she is still harboring issues from her near death in the Fisher King case. She does not make the evaluation process easy for Hotch. The two ultimately come to an understanding. Meanwhile without Hotch or Greenaway, the BAU work on a case in Ozona, Texas - population 2,500 - of adolescents individually having been beaten to death by blunt force to the head, their bodies found in the woods. By the time the BAU arrive in Ozona, three are dead. In addition to the investigation and debrief with local authorities, the BAU speak to both parents and children in how best to protect themselves, the children told to work on the buddy system, never going anywhere without a friend. The BAU are certain that the unsub is someone local. Local legend points to there being a boogeyman living in the hills, he actually being a recluse named Joseph Finnegan. The authorities find evidence in his house, but additional evidence that he could not have killed the children. A set of fingerprints found in the house could prove to be vital in finding the unsub.—Huggo
