Mickey Mouse Rocks the House
The first season of the Disney Channel's "MMC" (Mickey Mouse Club" gets off to a good start with this Music Day show that featured comedy sketches like "Pinnochio Jones" (with the very funny Chase Hampton) and the first installment of the "Teen Angel" movie serial. The musical guest is Boy's Club, who performs their song "The Lonliest Heart".
The set was on a giant turntable. The main base featured a malt shop of the kind teens used to hang out in the Disney films of the early 1960's. It could turn to reveal an entirely new set on the other side.
This first episode doesn't feature any of the kids who would grow up to become pop superstars (Justin, Britanny, Christina) but this group features a lot of energetic performers like Brandy, Damon, Tiffany, Chase, DeeDee, Lindsey, Roque, Jennifer and Albert. This first group of shows also features a very good actor named Bradon, who seems to have disappeared after the "Bratman" sketch at the end of the season and was replaced by Kevin.
The show is done very variety show like in style and after the great success the show had in developing talent, I'm surprised that Disney hasn't brought it back in one form or another.
