I wish this was around when I was a kid
FFindie21 September 2006
Wow, I see major parent-child quality time here...watching television! If this show had been around when I was a kid, maybe I would have enjoyed learning history. And, I may even have remembered it. The great thing about this show, is that it has plenty of humor for adults so they can enjoy it as much as their kids. These two gals have great comedic timing. The situations are hilarious, yet fully grounded in history. Where can we see more episodes? I'd love to see this show on television, so my kids could benefit from what I missed out on. (And I'd like to watch it too.)What a concept, a show we could watch together and like it!

Wacky, fun and informative entertainment!!

Warning: Spoilers
Fab television pilot that follows two crazy geeks, Martti & Kim, as they tour and tell about St. Augustine, Florida in great costumes, silly animation and lovely dry humor. Starting with the conquistador(itas) landing on the beach and then traveling through time, outrunning pirates, a baguette-wielding Frenchman, a parachuting cat and a ghost in need of a dentist, Martti and Kim keep the show all lively but well-informed and grounded in history. The interviews with the local expert add layers of history to their silliness and their Monty Python-influenced humor makes it all enjoyable and entertaining. Where will Martti and Kim show up next???? A very well thought-out and viable format - I want to see it on TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

History Channel, are you listening?

I love nothing more than two attractive girls who aren't afraid to dress like men and tell hokey jokes. And there are hokey jokes a plenty in this (some even a bit scandalous). Already being a lover of history AND of the city of St. Augustine, Martti & Kim could do no wrong with someone like me. I think I laughed the hardest at the "woman moment", complete with the two wenches leaping in slow motion through the air and throwing flowers about them. But telling history in an entertaining way is so important. Not only is it fascinating, but it's important to know where we come from. The wonderful thing about Martti & Kim is that they can really do a show like this anywhere. I could see The History Channel or the Travel Channel picking it up, and see them traveling all over the world to document historical places & events.

Hysterical history!

Warning: Spoilers
Martti & Kim's Story of St. Augustine is an amusing visit to the past. Who says you can't learn something while you are hysterically laughing?! This is a history lesson presented with a new twist! Maarti & Kim are 2 delightfully funny ladies who light up the screen with their antics. Wacky costumes & animation add to the slap-stick presentation. Conquistador outfits in the opening scene give a hint as to the slapstick that follows. They then become straight-faced news-anchor types for their interviews! It doesn't hurt that both ladies are as adorable as they are funny. They compliment each other both physically & artistically. Hope this pilot goes forward & we get to see where Martti & Kim's story goes from here!
