Wow, what an episode. The "mutiny" twist is most definitely a game-changer. Nothing will be the same from now on. The challenges (especially the immunity one, with the cannonballs) are awesome. It's always satisfying to see the underdogs triumph. During the commentary for that challenge, Jeff Probst has one moment for the ages, when he deadpans "Jonathan gets frustrated, by me". And then he drops another bomb at the end: the 9th person voted out of Survivor Cook Islands will be the first member of the jury!! So we're getting a 9-person jury this time?? I wonder how that will play out. This season is getting better and better. ***1/2 out of 4.

This One Had It All!

Actually a fun episode! Brad was voted out. Let's examine that. Basically it made him look expendable, which I had hoped he was emerging as one of the stronger 'characters'.
But apparently not.
What we did get was two possible villains, sore (yet justified) winners and could that be the emergence of racism on the horizon? I hope not, as the team of Adam and Nathan appears as unbeatable as Yul and Ozzy. These alone stand as the four deserving figures to make it to the end, one from each of the race teams.
Our villain? Jonathan, and possibly Candace, who mutinied against their team, abandoning them.
This then caused Sundra to emerge to the front, as she was truly hurt by this desertion.
That the abandoned team would win both competitions in this episode helped tremendously, making them the ultimate underdog.
Ozzy displayed that poor sportsmanship by declaring 'the mutineers die first' to Jonathan and Candace, which is laughable and almost justified in young Ozzy's behavior. He was abandoned by two teammates. That was probably rather jolting.
The winning team voted someone to Exile island and off went their former teammate, Candace, leaving JOnathan on this new team rather alone.
Now Candace isn't interested in an alliance with Jonathan, but Jonathan thinks she is.
Jonathan also thinks that he, Adam, Parvati and Candace should be the four to make it to the end, and they should form an alliance together.
This ironically is the four remaining white people. Is this all Jonathan feels he can bond with? Adam said he will go along with Jonathan, but then he doesn't like Jonathan as we learn later on.
Again, this would truly be a shame if Adam voted with Jonathan, as Adam and Nathan are a dynamic duo to watch in competitions.
It was all but nail-biting to see if Ozzy, Sundra, Yul and Becky went to tribal council. They really deserved better, and thankfully, they got it.
So the other team decided to get rid of Brad, as expendable, and bait Jonathan along? Hopefully. Jonathan gave the most nefarious grin at the end upon seeing Brad voted out, as tho he had duped all around.
Adam and Nathan said they were worried if they merged, Brad would go with Yul and Becky, but they didn't seem to have any concern with Jenny turning on them.
Still, Brad had gotten annoying, sitting out a swimming competition.
Hopefully, Adam and Nathan realize if Jonathan and Candace had stayed on their team, then Jonathan wouldn't have been in that final competition and they may not have had to go to tribal council.
