The person eliminated at Tribal Council became the first member of the jury. This is the first time in Survivor history where it was done with twelve remaining Survivors instead of nine.
For the second time, a 'Mutiny' option was given to the Survivors on both teams. Unlike the first time in Survivor: Thailand, where no one chose to 'Mutiny', two people opted to change tribes, Jonathan Penner and Candice Cody.
In this episode after the reward challenge, the winning tribe chose a member of the losing tribe to send to Exile Island.
In this episode, a Mutiny was offered, to switch tribes. While no one from Raro Tribe accepted the offer, Candice and Jonathan from Aitu Tribe did take the Mutiny and made the odds 8-4 Raro over Aitu. Against all odds, and with some convincing Jonathan after the merge, the Aitu 4 make it to the Final 4, decimating the seemingly insurmountable odds against them.
