- Edgar Allen Poe stays at B.J.'s Road House, and agonizes over his lost Lenore so much that it irritates him, but since he keeps throwing money around in his direction, he tries to tolerate Poe's depression as best as he can.
- A very depressed Edgar Allen Poe finds his way to Beetlejuice's home, wailing over the loss of his precious Lenore. While Lydia attempts to help, Beetlejuice is subjected to cartoon re-enactments of different Poe stories, including "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Pit and the Pendulum." But his tolerance for Poe's disruptions reaches a limit when Poe informs him that Lydia is now lost as well.
