Vanished: The Cell is the first episode not shown on television
tavm17 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I just saw the tenth episode of Vanished called The Cell on myspace.com after I read on TV.com that the rest of the Fox series was going to air there for the next four Fridays after such low ratings for the last two on the previous Fridays. I guess that means the show is unofficially cancelled. Anyway, on to the recap. A videotape of Sanator Collins is being played by someone who is fast forwarding over certain words in order to edit on a microcassette. Sara in her cell keeps getting a voice from beyond her wall asking about her health. She also gets visited by her brainwasher who plays the doctored tape that basically says from her husband, "If Sara hadn't disappeared, I wouldn't have such high poll numbers." Sara starts to try to think of some good times such as when she first met her future husband when she was a schoolteacher and he guest read Peter Rabbit and the day he asked to marry her. Meanwhile, Judge Rainer is on TV confirming his Supreme Court vote for the next day and Collins' support of him making Marcy call him to ask why he hasn't withdrawn. Rainer calls her bluff. Marcy calls Judy Nash and asks when she can appear on TV live. At FBI, a couple of men manage to put themselves on FBI ID cards and infiltrate headquarters before Lucas and Lin Mei can stop them. Each one, however, manages to shoot one of them. Also, the doctor who is scheduled for execution had left behind a circular disc in a van that is discovered by the agents and inspected by the headquarters' archaeologist. A check on the computer of the now dead men leads to a picture of a woman identified as the jailed doc's wife in front of what Lin Mei discovers is an '06 model car. That means she's still alive. We then see that she was talking to Sara behind her wall. So now Lucas questions the doc about what the kidnappers want from the missing Dead Sea Scroll page. He promises to tell if Lucas can find his missing wife. We then see Marcy and Ben in bed as Marcy pulls off the covers and we see blood on the bottom of her clothes. It seems she has miscarried...Okay, part of me is intrigued and part of me is confused on what this is leading to and with 3 more episodes to go I hope I'll get some answers soon. Since Vanished is unofficially cancelled, let me say that I enjoyed most of the episodes I've seen so far and would have loved a 22-ep season. Hope the entire cast finds something better soon. Til next time...
