The best Mario in years!
griffolyon1229 November 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I have been a Mario fan for as long as I can remember, I have very fond memories of playing Super Mario World as a kid, this game has brought back many of those memories while adding something new. Super Mario Galaxy is the latest installment in the amazing Mario franchise. There is much very different about this game from any other Mario before it, while still keeping intact the greatest elements of Mario, the first noticeable difference is that the story takes place in space.

The story begins much like any other Mario game, Mario receives a letter from Princess Peach inviting him to a celebration at her castle in the Mushroom Kingdom. Upon arriving at Peach's castle Mario finds Bowser and his son (Bowser Jr.) attacking the castle with their airships. Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach and then lifts her castle up into space. In the midst of the castle being lifted into space Mario falls off and lands on an unknown planet. Mario is found by a talking star named Luma and is taken back to the Luma's home, a floating space station, here Mario meets many other Lumas and also meets their leader, a woman named Rosalina. Rosalina tells Mario that Bowser has taken away the space station's Power Stars and scattered them across the universe, it is up to Mario to help the Lumas find them and save Peach, thus the adventure begins.

The way you play the game is by flying from the space station to other galaxies, each galaxy consists of multiple planets that Mario travels amongst in levels via these shooting stars to retrieve the Power Stars. Mario can at many times walk all the way around planets without losing gravity, some planets are small and others are big, many planets are similar to classic Mario environments. The best thing about the game are the controls, all of the stuff like jumping and such is still the same, but the wiimote is used in many unique ways in this game. You shake the remote Mario will perform a spin that is used as the primary attack in the game, and it will as well activate the shooting stars. You can also point the remote at the screen and use the pointer to fire star bits at enemies or objects in the environment. Then there is the graphics, these are by far the best graphics on the Wii, it is just so hard to describe how great this game looks, you could probably almost say it looks as good as some 360 games.

My only minor gripes is that the going upside down effect takes some getting used to, and also the story is pretty weak. The worst part is that you lose all of your lives when you turn off the game, no matter how many you had when you last quit you restart at 4 lives. Still these minor problems aside it's a superb game that is highly entertaining and is very challenging. This is the type of game that we've been waiting for on the Wii.

A perfect 10 out of 10!

A poem to how awesome I think Mario Galaxy is...
striljr13 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
(Warning: May Contain Spoilers) Let Rosalina help Mario lead the way and smile because this game will brighten your day.

120 stars will require luck and skill, but 60 will bring you as much of a thrill!

Blasting through stars show Mario and Luigi and what travelers they now are!

Walking upside down has never been more fun, especially a final battle with Koopa near the Sun!

This is truly a super awesome game and it absolutely deserves a place in Nintendo's Hall of Fame!

another very cool mario title.
ernievader29 March 2008
the mario series is back, and in my opinion, better than ever. Galaxy is the most creative mario yet; even more so than super mario 64. the controls are great; some of the best for the wii. beautiful graphical design as well. the levels are very big, and the good old bosses are back. there is tons to explore in this game; definitely a high level of replay value. I only have 2 complaints: 1: the story is a little to similar to mario 64. and 2: the difficulty isn't very high; though it does require some patience. mario fans: the game you've been waiting for. Casual gamers: this game is more than worth the buy. 9.8 out of 10.

Crazy Good
michaelr964 April 2008
Like some other people wrote, I'm a die-hard mario fan, and I loved this game.

This game starts slightly boring, but trust me, it's worth it. As soon as you start, your hooked! The levels are fun and exiting. They will hook you 'till your mind turns to mush. I'm not kidding. This game is also orchestrated, and is beautifully done.

To keep this spoiler free, I have to keep my mouth shut about details. But please try this game! It'll be worth it!

Story: 9.9 Action: 10.1 (It's that good!) Hardness: 10 Attention Grabber: 10 Average: 10

A Big Step Up From "Sunshine"
zkonedog13 March 2017
Being a dye-in-the-wool Nintendo fan, I have always enjoyed the new Mario titles that seem to be the stalwart of the franchise. I spent way too many hours of my life playing the original Super Mario Bros. (plus sequels), as well as Super Mario World for the SNES. Then, as with most people, Super Mario '64 absolutely blew me away with its 3-D graphic interface. However, I was disappointed in the Gamecube effort Super Mario Sunshine, which just didn't seem to have the right "Mario feel" to it. Super Mario Galaxy, however, brought me back into the Mario "universe" (excuse the pun) big time!

The controls and premise of this game hearkens back to the revolutionary Mario '64, in which players must collect stars (or, in this case, star creatures) in a variety of different ways. The graphics are pristine, the cut scenes are fun, and the controls are easy to pick up and play.

Though panned as being a "kids game", Mario Galaxy offers something for both the beginning and advanced gamers. By collecting 70 of the 120 total stars (a task that is by no means impossible), Bowser can be defeated and effectively "end" the game. However, more advanced games can shoot for the full 120 stars and see the "true" ending.

Overall, this game is another success in the long line of the Mario franchise. After mixed reviews for Mario Sunshine, Nintendo went back to the basics in this game and created a masterpiece. I'm looking forward to the next installment (rumored to be a sequel to this game?!)

Looks like this game will start turning the tables for Mario
cheezdontgowitm322 November 2007
Warning: Spoilers
*THIS COMMENT WILL PROBABLY HAVE SPOILERS!! I CHECKED THE SPOILERS BOX JUST IN CASE BUT IT MIGHT NOT HAVE SPOILERS, BUT BE AWARE ANYWAYS IF I SAY SOMETHING THAT YOU MIGHT CONSIDER A SPOILER AND I DON'T!* Wow...best game since Super Mario 64. I got this game the first day it came out, and before I got it, I went on some gaming websites to look at its ratings (yes, they already reviewed it before it came out), and I was shocked. I was expecting something like Sunshine because lately all the Mario games have kind of been getting worse and worse. But this one totally beat the other games. The scores on this game even beat Halo 3! It's simply amazing.

STORY: Not the best, Mario games are never known for their plots, and this one isn't really much of a difference. Bowser once again kidnaps Peach but this time invades the Mushroom Kingdom on a festival celebrated once every century and gets a flying saucer and it shoots lasers on the ground and then they put anchors inside the ground and rip off the castle and its foundation into outer space.

GRAPHICS: Absolutely gorgeous, the best graphics on Wii so far. The water effects are really nice too, if you ever see the water, it looks so real because the effects they put in it.

MUSIC: Simply amazing, the music in this game is orchestrated. Not all of it, but even the ones that aren't orchestrated still sound very nice.

GAMEPLAY: Very entertaining, keeps you wanting to play more and more, and for me, since usually I tend to be very frustrated with games if I die a lot, I mean, I'm definitely not the only one, but this game for me didn't have that a lot. Now it still kind of did, but not to the point like Mario 64 where I totally go crazy and end up turning off the game because it made me mad, this one never did that.

DIFFICULTY: There are two types of difficulty, because you can just technically beat the game with just 60 stars, which I think is kind of easy, but to beat the game 100%, you have to get 120, like always, and that quest is way harder, but at the same time still very fun.

LENGTH: Good length, definitely not too short. It took me around 15-16 hours to beat it with just 60 stars, but 120 took me more like 45-50 hours. Now I didn't play it constantly that much, I played first a lot one day, then the next couple of days just a couple hours each day, then the next two days I played it all day. To me though, I think the quest for 60 stars was a tiny bit short, so if you want a long game, I suggest getting all of them.

PRESENTATION: Now, the cinematic scenes in this movie are superb. The way they are, it just looks so much like something I would see in the theaters. They are hands down the best cinematic scenes on any Mario game so far.

OVERALL: This game is definitely a great game, and I advise you to not wait until Christmas, get it as soon as possible. This game also is a good mixture of old and new, you'll have some sidescroller levels where you move just side to side, or up and down because they'll change on gravity, but even the music has some old classics in it. So this game seems to be like a masterpiece. To me, it's my favorite Mario game of all time, but others may disagree. But it's still a great game. I recommend every gamer who wants to have fun in a game to get this.

Super Mario Galaxy one of the most engrossing and captivating video game experiences you will ever have
coasterdude4411 October 2020
I will never forget the first time I played this game and how it changed my gaming life and perception of the medium as a whole. Before 2008 I really wasn't into Mario or that much of Nintendo. I never played a Mario game up to that point, I never found him to be especially appealing to me as a young kid. Anyway I rented this game from my local Video Ezy in 2008 with relatively low expectations expecting a good platformer but nothing really more than that.

Anyway, from the moment I put that game in my Nintendo Wii, for the next two weeks I was transfixed on my TV screen, absolutely blown away from what I was constantly experiencing. I had no idea what I was in for when I started this game.

The game is breathtaking in every sense of the word and forever changed my view of Nintendo and the Mario franchise from that point on. This is the game that made me a legitimate fan of Super Mario. The way the game captures the nature of space inspired my imagination in a way very few games could. The gravity effects were mind blowing for the time and still hold up today. The stages and galaxies themselves feel alive and expansive.

I loved how you could run up walls and at points go completely upside down as well as jumping from planet to planet, being pulled in by it's separate individual gravitational pull. The platforming is stellar with a very cinematic feel to the way the worlds and levels are presented and how you progress between each part of the stage, usually by spaceflight where Mario gleefully spreads both of his arms out as he flies through space.

The graphics are stunning and are some of the very best you can find on the Wii. It's a shame the Wii never supported HD visuals because if it could, this would rival many Xbox 360 and PS3 titles at the time.

The greatest aspect of this game by far is definitely the music and soundscape. The musical ambience creeps it's way in in such a magical way that perfectly captures the atmosphere and feeling of every area and stage. Some of the music in this game is very touching and emotional, like To The Gateway on the very first planet of the game and Space Junk Galaxy, as well as Good Egg Galaxy which is the first official level in the game that isn't a tutorial stage.

It really is one of those types of games you just can't put down because of just how ingenious the level design is. The level of fun to be had in this game is almost intoxicating.

The controls are extremely tight and responsive with a few motion controls added here and there but never feel invasive or overly annoying. There is one level where you have to control Mario on a ball as you use the wiimote almost like a joystick to roll him in a certain direction, that part is slightly annoying but it's overall fun outweighs the annoyance. That is the one thing I want to make crystal clear about this game. It's just fun, and you can't ask for more than that.

Anyway my first playthrough of Super Mario Galaxy is one of the biggest surprises I had as a kid and I recommend anyone to pick up and play it. I rank it up there with the original Banjo-Kazooie games, Battle For Bikini Bottom and Super Mario 64 as being one of the greatest 3D platformers of all time and one of the very best games of the late 2000s. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is also one of the best gaming sequels, improving on the first game's mechanics, but it still didn't have the same impact as what the first game brought.

Play this masterpiece of platforming as soon as you can

One of the best
leviguerero30 March 2020
Super Mario Galaxy has to be one of the best games of all time. My second favorite, close behind super Mario Galaxy 2, this game is legitimately awesome. It is a true sequel to Super Mario 64, except this time, Mario blasts off into space! Encountering terrain with low gravity, cool new power ups and amazing graphics, Mario is at his best in this game. The boss fights are the best in any game I've ever played besides the game's sequel. All in all, easily one of the best games I've ever played, getting a ten out of ten from me.

Warning: Spoilers
Super Mario galaxy is a perfect game. The music is just beautiful. Levels are just perfect. The power ups control is just excellent even the spring mushroom it controls excellent. Controls are just amazing. Deeper story with Rosalina's story. Something different bowser tried to do is take over the universe instead the mushroom kingdom like always. If you have a Wii or Wii u get this game. I give this game a rating of 11 out of 10.Mind Blowing and perfect.

It's a major improvement, but far from perfect
JakeBrinkman27 November 2022
Note: I first played this game in 2022. I would have probably given it 8/10 ir higher if I had played it when it was first released compared with other games of that time.

I beat the game, so this is a complete review. Well, I got 120 stars, so technically I only halfway beat the game, but I don't plan on repeating the entire game as Luigi just to unlock the final level and get all 242 stars.

Pros:

* The gameplay is vastly improved over 64 and Sunshine. For 50-75% of the levels, solving puzzles felt like I was solving puzzles rather than 64 & Sunshine where 50-75% of the "puzzles" were simply struggling against game mechanics or unclear instructions of what to do next.

* The difficulty scaled really well between the early and endgame levels.

* The spin attack added new movement capabilities that I really liked. It's not as versatile as the hat in Odyssey, but a step up from 64 without feeling like I'm cheating (like the hover in Sunshine sometimes made me feel)

Cons:

* Like 64 and Sunshine, this game also has infuriatingly limited camera controls, and joystick movements flip nonsensically whenever you are walking on walls or the ceiling.

* A solid 25% of the missions still had me angry at the game mechanics. Specifically the later levels that inexplicably have fewer or zero checkpoints. It's a huge improvement over 64 & Sunshine, but far from perfect. I know finally achieving that flawless execution is the gratifying reward that a lot of people get from the Mario side-scrollers, but that has never been my preferred type of game.

* I needed to look up guides to complete 10ish% of the levels, which is *way* better than Sunshine's blue coin fiasco, but still annoying.

* Other movement mechanics, especially the backflip, were inexplicably made more difficult to execute.

* Star Bits seemed like collecting just for the sake of collecting. They were basically useless during a level and were only used to feed the hungry Lumas.

* The story had a bit too much Japanese wackiness for my taste. They went way too in-depth with the pseudo science that completely violated every law of physics. They could have worked harder to come up with a reasonable explanation, or they could have not tried to explain it and let the players ignore it as "cartoon physics." But the fact that they specifically call it out but completely fail to convincingly explain it broke my immersion every time. I still enjoyed playing the levels, but I didn't care at all for the overarching story.

Overall: 6/10. I probably won't replay it, but I'm glad I did play it, and I would recommend it to people who have not yet played the far superior Odyssey.

Phenomenal game!
Super Mario Galaxy is probably the pinnacle of 3D-Mario games to this day. Its gameplay is crazy, gorgeous to look at, and the camera work is a quantum leap from that of Super Mario 64's infamous camera system. The biggest difference between this game and the previous Mario games is that this one is set in space. Space & Mario = a match made in heaven.

Super Mario Galaxy uses sparing motion-control, just for Mario's spin-attack function, and the game has great level design. Everything in this just works so well. Even though the story is typically shallow, it doesn't matter because your experience immersing yourself in gravity-changing situations and the satisfaction of getting a star make up for the usual lack of plot in a Mario game.

Nintendo outdid themselves here, big time!

The BEST 3D Mario
supernoahgames22 January 2022
Super Mario 64 aged a little poorly in a handful of aspects, Super Mario Sunshine is open world which is cool, but those controls are quite a bit bad. Super Mario Galaxy? Next to no flaws at ALL. Leaping from planet to planet through orange stars, stomping goombas, flipping around the main hub area; EVERYTHING about this game is almost completely superior to the previous 3D Mario titles (in my opinion of course). The stunning graphics and music is also masterful. It's your typical Mario story, princess is captured, get her back but at least Mario Galaxy makes it more cinematic and intense. The castle is drilled from the ground and brought up to space! Now that is much more intense than any other Mario game up to that point.

Never played it? Try it. It has a chance (which is quite big) to become one of your all time favourite games. It is amazing.

This game is for only you to decide
klayguys12 February 2008
This is one of those games where you love it to bits or hate it to shreds.Even being a hardcore Mario fan can make you dislike this game. You can hate it because it is 2 short and somewhat boring and easy.Or you can love it because it is a mixture of amazing graphics(not a Nintendo fan huge excitement) music or game play.I know a lot of people that say it is amazing, and others who think its the worst Mario ever.It really depends on the type of Nintendo fan you are.I personally love this game and I think it is the best wii game, but you should determine that for yourself. So I think you should absolutely get it if you are the right Nintendo fan.But If you love The classics too much, you may not like it.So try it out yourself.

Super Mario Galaxy is a truly incredible game and one of my favorite video games I've ever played, Mario is a top 3 most iconic video game character and this game might be my favorite of his, until I replay the 2nd one.

It's full of exquisite action and brilliant boss fights while also getting insanely creative with the kingdoms and the villains, Mario's powers are all fantastic in this game and this was all I played during the first 3 weeks of quarantine, the graphics and the sound design have aged extremely well and Bowser is a truly iconic villain, this game remains timeless to me and is a game I will be playing for quite a long time.

A+

Nintendo is amazing.
moviefanintheusa8 October 2009
Ever since 1981, Nintendo has been making great video games such as Super Mario and Zelda. Most ideas would get a bit boring after 20 years. Games made by Nintendo never seem to get boring because they're always adding something new. It went from arcade games to the Wii and I hear that there's a new version of the Wii scheduled for release in 2011. The thing that makes Wii games so different is the fact that your actually doing something instead of just sitting on the couch pushing buttons.

And I have more good news. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is to be released in 2010.

The best video game of all time
Albert_Pecanio20 July 2022
Super Mario Galaxy, was the first entry for the Wii in terms of the mainline mario series, and the third 3d mario game. Expectations for the next game at the time were more simplistic and exploratory than the game's final product. And this game is so unique and crazy, that compared to the other mainline games, does it stay in place? I wouldn't say so, but this is what makes it brilliant.

This game has the word galaxy in it. If Sunshine sounds like a sunny place, then galaxy should be a spacy place. And it succeeds at that at such a brilliant level. The atmosphere is the best in Super Mario Galaxy, than compared to any other game. The realism you feel at some levels is astonishing, and one of the main reasons why the game feels so complete, fresh and exciting.

Along with that, we can't forget about what all games need. Gameplay! And once again, it doesn't disappoint. The sheer fun of traveling through space, exploring, finding bosses, seeing new themes and solving puzzles is unbelievable. The amount of fun in this game is the best in the mario series tied with its sequel.

But there's one last thing that truly separates this game from everything else, the presentation. The music, the climax, the cutscenes, the story and everything else that is related to it are done to perfection. The soundtrack is better than most movie soundtracks and the best video game soundtrack of all time. Good Egg, Comet Observatory, Battlerock, Space Junk, Buoy Base, Gusty Garden, Melty Molten, Beachbowl, Honeyhive, Megaleg, Star Festival, Gateway, Red Star Flight, Enter the Galaxy, Enter Bowser Jr., Bouldergeist, Ghostly are some superb songs that are truly unbelievable and completely original.

The main story and vibe behind the game is one that describes space beautifully, and the climax and cutscenes are the best in this game. The best way to represent it is by the final boss. Good luck finding a better final boss in any video game!

And then there are so many other things, but the way this game feels about space whilst also being revolutionary and having brilliant level design and when you add that with the presentation, this game is truly the best of all time.

You might hear people say that Galaxy 2 improved on this in a lot of aspects, but that isn't necessarily true either. I found the level design in the first to be better, the accommodation and integration of gimmicks, and the way you're swiftly introduced to them, and use them later on make this even better. And crucially the game still has exploratory elements all over the game. Almost every core galaxy has an exploratory function to it, whether that be searching for star chips, obtaining star bits and having spherical planets to fully explore, along with more space given to you than in the 2nd game in planets, this has slightly better level design. And the 2nd game lost the charm of this game, the atmosphere and presentation are nothing compared to this game. The music is still astonishing in the 2nd game, but the first game still has a better soundtrack, as SMG2's soundtrack doesn't feel original enough.

Regardless of the 2nd game, this is the best Mario game, and a bit more controversially, the best video game of all time.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is better, but this is still fun and creative
LucaElliot1234 August 2014
Super Mario Galaxy is one of the Mario games that had it's moments, the game's plot, camera, gameplay and stages are clearly awesome and playable, the Challenges are fun and hard for the hardcore fans, With 6 worlds and over 100 playable levels there is no game like this, the game starts off like all the other Mario games, Peach gets kidnapped and Mario must save her from King Bowser.

The game also focuses on Rosalina, a Cosmo protector who helps Mario gain Power by help by his colleague Luma, who gives him Power under his hat. The levels are fun and creative for all ages, the cinematic cutscenes are awesome and has one of the best graphics in any Mario game, the book story that Rosalina reads is sad and beautiful.

Wow, the game really starts off well.

If Shigeru Miyamoto had made a game where everyone is playing Mario and he had the Power to spin-attack enemies, fly through stars and grab star bits, this is the game. The game almost everything, good controls, powerful camera and non-stop soundtrack, the bosses are amazing, even the final boss with Bowser.

Bowser Battles are the best battles in the game, they have easy weak spots, great music and has the same alleged Places every time, the ending cinematic was amazing and intense. Everyone even Bowser returned to the Mushroom Kingdom by a little help from Mario and Rosalina

An otherwise great game ruined by motion controls
takamorishiho30 June 2021
The music was performed by a FIFTY PIECE symphony orchestra!

I really enjoyed the style of the game, and I especially enjoyed the music.

Unfortunately, the mandated motion controls that were programmed and implemented at the beginning of motion controls in gaming ruined an otherwise incredible game. I am happy they fixed this for the Switch remake.

How could it get any better than this???
smg24226 February 2014
"Oh. My. God.

That. Was. A. Spectacle."

Above are the words that I said when I saw the E3 trailer for this marvel of a video game.

Yes, JUST the E3 trailer.

When I got the game, I literally started going crazy.

First up, I'll say this. I have a HUGE bias towards Mario. My first video game was Super Mario World for the SNES. The Super Mario games were the most addictive, challenging, and ultimately, wonderful games of their time, maybe even today!

The Mario games had (or rather STILL HAVE) a certain whimsical, goofy, yet all-encompassing charm to them, that any casual gamer would get drawn in like a magnet. Not only were the original NES Mario games good, but each future Mario game raised the bar, consistently.

Super Mario World 1 and 2 for the SNES, Super Mario 64 for the N64. Heck, I even thought Super Mario Sunshine for the GameCube was amazing. (It actually is, but that's a whole different story)

But, when I saw the E3 trailer for THIS game, I was so hyped. In fact, I was never MORE hyped for any other game EVER. It was the whimsical, colorful, charming and adventurous traditional 3D Mario platformer, but in space! And it looked amazing! Man, was I hyped.

It might sound a little cheesy, but it was the PINNACLE of all ideas for a Mario game. In the first place, Mario games were bereft of most logic and sensibility, or actually deep story in the first place. The story was mostly loose, and had the same traditional plot: rescue the kidnapped Princess Peach from the dastardly Koopa King Bowser. But, whatever it was, it worked for Mario games, since they put gameplay before story, and yes, even logic, sometimes. But who cares? It's a video game, not a movie, where everything HAS to have a controlled plot.

EVERYTHING about this game was near PERFECT, from start to end. The fun, fast and engrossing gameplay, the visuals on the Nintendo Wii, the sound effects, EVERYTHING. At times, it was challenging as heck, and at others, it felt like a breeze. Still, playing through the game is wonderful for not just the gameplay and the levels (some which have an ingenious design, by the way), but even for the masterful presentation. The game looks, plays, and feels truly, like a spectacle.

Don't think I wasn't going to mention the music, which was definitely the highest of all high points for Super Mario Galaxy. This game has some of the BEST video game music, in years. It's so memorable, it brings me to tears, whenever I hear the theme for Battlerock Galaxy. Not that anything sad or depressing happened then, but because of the memories that it invoked. Truly, Super Mario Galaxy has one of the best video game soundtracks, of all time.

A lot of people say that games like GTA, Halo and Call of Duty are the greatest, because they're more 'mature', and 'cool', and that Mario and Nintendo games are for 'kids'. I say that that's not true. Sure, games like GTA and Halo are good, in their own right, but just because that they're for mature audiences, doesn't mean that that's what makes them good. They have a lot of other factors that make them what they are. Whereas, these games, intended for children, are made with just so much heart and thought, that they become great in THEIR own right. And, OH, what a great game this is.

And, this is it. My huge love letter to my absolute favorite Mario game, and video game, of all time. No other video game has filled me with so many memories. Thank you, Nintendo, for bringing to me, and so many other gamers, one of the best video games ever.

It would be a crime for anyone who calls themselves a true 'gamer', to not play this game and keep calling themselves that.

zaynmaliksgirlbecca23 May 2021
I love that you can travel to different galaxies and when you explore them you get to do it going on a sphere. One of the most unique Mario games. And I like that a new character is introduced Rosalina. She could be Mario's Daughter that's a theory. The soundtrack for this is really good. I love the new powers you can have.

Could Be So Much More

I Love Mario games and I especially liked the classics Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3. This game however didn't live up to my expectations. It looked very solid and smooth and exciting at the start but going through galaxy to galaxy it just doesn't really excite much anymore. I do have to say however the graphics are amazing the music is fantastic but all that bothers me is the basic game play. It does just look too simple yet even the hardest levels you can skip and go across the universe just to find Bowser and his kidnapped Princess Peach. Tell the truth Bowser Jr wasn't as hard to fight than Bowser himself. And even the gigantic bosses were not that hard at all. If they make the second I wouldn't be surprised if it's worse. Although it is a good game to own and play with your friends.

Super Mario Galaxy (2007) An almost perfect game
claszdsburrogato8 April 2023
Nowadays people tend to think that for a game to be amazing it needs a complex and very dramatic story, but they forget that for a game to be really good it needs to be innovative. However, after so many games, can the Super Mario franchise still reinvent itself? In 2007 it was proved that yes, this franchise manages to be innovative with each game. This isn't the kind of game you're going to play because the story is awesome, but because it's extremely creative and well-crafted. The levels here are some of the best ever seen in video games. The design as a whole is perfect, it's beautiful, it's magnificent. There's no reason to complain about mechanics or graphics, as absolutely everything is perfect in this game. But something that doesn't make it a 10 are some stages that are lower than the rest. However, that is far from making this a bad game. In my opinion, this is the best game in the Super Mario franchise.
