Some great acting in this episode.

Polly is dealing with a minor assault, the attacker is an enraged Scotsman, whom she decides to treat with kid gloves, Mike arrives to help, but makes the situation worse.

A very good watch, the case itself is an interesting one, but it's the way that events spiral out of control that make this so interesting.

Both Mike and Polly are two of the more mild mannered, decent, robust and solid characters, a falling out between these two comes as a surprise, but it's very well done.

Jon Morrison is absolutely fantastic here as the villain of the piece, if you recognise the voice and the name, but are confused by the hairstyle, you could be forgiven. If you're a Vera fan, you'll know him as Kenny. He is fantastic here, it's an amazing performance from him, very, very good, that scene where he pours his heart out is amazing.

Good also to see Barry Jackson, it wouldn't be too long before he'd become known to millions as Doctor Bullard on Midsomer Murders.

9/10.
