- TriviaDallas Cowboys' running back, Tony Dorsett made history, breaking the record for a single rush. He went 99 yards, in one rush inside the Dallas Cowboys' one-yard line and scored a touchdown. The previous single rush record was 97 yards, set by Green Bay Packer, Andy Uram, against the (then) Chicago Cardinals, on Sunday, October 8th, 1939. Pittsburgh Steeler, Bob Gage tied Uram's record, on Sunday, December 4th, 1949, against the Chicago Bears. Final score was Minnesota 23 and Dallas 20. Additional fact: Dallas was one player less than they should be, fullback, Ron Springs did not get onto the field, in time after the Dallas Cowboys special team recovered the fumbled football, inside their 1-yard line. The Minnesota Vikings team kicked off to the Dallas Cowboys, after they had just scored in the third quarter.
