Drugs are being smuggled into a prison, DS Daley uses the wife of a convict to try and get a result.
A solid episode, quite a good story, without being particularly remarkable or unique. There have been several prison based episodes, this one felt a little small scale somehow.
Well acted of course, and a decent basis for a story, I just wish it could have been a little more dramatic, perhaps a bit more dynamic. I think the best element was the conflict between Daley and Carver, one has a moral compass, the other would sell his own grandmother for a result.
DS Daley is a decent character, but I feel on times he's almost an exact carbon copy of John Boulton, the pair would definitely be interchangeable, one script would fit either, both are good, but oh for the days of Roach and Burnside.
6/10.
