Disclaimer:I am no expert reviewer, I just need a show to binge watch and I'm going to Write a review for every episode I watch.

I really enjoyed this episode because I like episodes where there is a very large threat established at the beginning. And this terrorist attack brought genuine fear to me.

I also thought that the BAU was very well used in this episode. Sometimes I find it difficult to see how they were really useful in a case but in this case they were extremely clever with how they gained their information.

I love seeing Gideon Interrogate and trick the terrorist as I thought it showed how genuinely sophisticated his plans are.

I also really enjoyed seeing Prentiss have to fight for her spot in the BAU and gain Gideons trust. And I thought ending scene with them playing chess was the perfect way to show the new gained respect.

I also thought that the ending scene with hotch was just so incredibly heartfelt because of the genuine fear that he had for his family.

The only reason I don't give it a perfect 10 out of 10 is because I thought it dragged just a little bit in the middle but it really picked up at the end.

The writer

Curious to me the first review was so hung up on Mandy P. - the lead actor. (He did do an excellent job.) What's more interesting is this is the first script from one of the real BAU FBI types approached when developing the show. He had since gone on to being a consultant, writer, etc for this and similar shows (not sure his current status - nor do i care).

The difference between the CIA and FBI approach has been roundly reported over the years of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Gitmo.

This is an unvarnished thinly/none-veiled point of view from the FBI. What Mandy thinks is rather irrelevant.

a perfect first case for prentiss

Emily Prentiss is a favorite of mine, and this episode is a great introduction to her character. Not only does this episode brilliantly show Prentiss' competence, it's also a very interesting case, one that deviates quite a bit from a regular episode.

Interviewing the prisoner at GITMO

The statement made by Gideon: You have perverted your faith to justify killing millions of people.

I'm interested to know Mr. Patinkin's thoughts while doing that scene. Apart from doing his job as an actor, did that statement of Gideon's ring true to Mr. Patinkin? He is such a great actor, one cannot read his face to determine, or rather, have a glance to his personal character or beliefs.

The interviewing scenes were riveting, and this particular one, when Gideon's statement was made, actually became the very crux of the story. It also reflected the very crux of what has been happening in real life. A perversion of faith.

Can this web page tell me Mr. Patinkin's thoughts of this subject?
