Like the earlier episode that focused on fugitive Nazi Josef Mengele, this episode also attempts to track down and explain the background of international fugitive "Carlos the Jackal"(named after the popular Frederick Forsyth novel) who was a mercenary terrorist who ostensibly was fighting for political causes in the middle east, but in reality fancied himself a debonair playboy who just wanted to be rich, and fund his extravagant lifestyle. His attack on OPEC headquarters(recreated here) was what really put him on the map. Though he eluded capture at the time of original airing, many years later he was captured, tried, and convicted of his crimes, and put in jail. Interesting if a bit rambling, and atypical as well.
