Connery Fleming. An ageing film star is found dead by his valet Miles Webber (Warren Mitchell.)

The police are told that Fleming might have been poisoned

Miles is sure that Fleming was murdered and makes that claim in a live television tribute program.

The police just cannot find any evidence of any poison. They are later told by Fleming's wife that some jewelry was stolen.

This could had been an interesting murder mystery of a film star. It rather gets sidetracked and bogged down such as the publicity guy with a dancer girlfriend.

At the end it turns out to be suicide that the valet tried to cover up to maintain Fleming's dignity.

Mitchell has a wandering accent. Not sure if it was American, Somerset or Irish.

Connery Fleming is a great name obviously inspired by the Bond movie.

It was an era when a famous film star died, the whole television schedule would change for tribute shows and movies. The same thing happened when Laurence Olivier died in 1989.
