Intriguing episode once again focused on China, this time the contention that Chinese explorers were the first to discover the Americas 1000 years before Christopher Columbus, as there is some evidence of Chinese accounts pointing to this, as well as the coincidence that Chinese faces can be found in certain Native American cultures, where it should be impossible. Of course, this is a controversial and still unproven theory, but as is pointed out, even if true, Columbus was indeed the first to create a permanent foreign settlement there, thus insuring him a place in history.
A nice companion piece with 'The Great Wall Of China'.
