- Two men find themselves unable to flee as planned after they use a stolen bazooka to rob a $33,000 oil field payroll.
- Using a bazooka stolen from a U. S. Army facility, supposed Korean War veteran Virgil Stocker and his partner Alfred Davidson rob a $33,000 payroll from the Reiner Oil Company. When they find themselves bottled in by Highway Patrol roadblocks, they return to the oil field and threaten to use the bazooka to destroy the storage tanks and wells if they are not permitted to go free. Dan Mathews and Army Detective Fletcher (a former tank operator) are able to use a scraper with a heavy blade to get within handgun range of the two. Stocker reveals himself to be a pusillanimous fake who never actually saw combat. When he flees, he is easily captured by Fletcher and Davidson finds himself facing Dan Mathews alone.—Sam Spear
- A dishonorable discharge man, his associate and a stolen bazooka with ammo head to a refinery, waiting is an armored vehicle with payroll. Dan Mathews and Army detective Fletcher are tracking the two on the way to the refinery, roadblocks are set, bazooka confirmed by a gas station attendant.
The armored car dropped off $33,000 cash to the company, Dan is aware of the drop. The two men saw the drop, lob tear gas into the refinery office, an employee exists, one hoodlum knocks him out, the other fires the bazooka at the safe, the two leave with the payroll.
Dan arrives at the refinery office, an employee describes the bazooka firing, Dan leaves in pursuit with Fletcher. Dan alerts both roadblock officers to clear, the armed criminals are coming their way. The armed vehicle comes to the roadblock, the officer is behind rock and fires at the car, the car reverses its direction, the officer follows with siren.
There are only the two roads out for the armed men, short on man power, the HP at least had the advantage of only dual exits off the refinery location. Dan backs off the officer trailing for safety reasons, but the men stop, firing twice, leaving the officer car off the road, the shot got the tires.
They shoot at Dan's car, are holding them with threats to blow the oil field. The foreman says give them the money, the oil fields are worth far more than the payroll. Dan says they committed a crime, he looks for other ways to stop the criminals. Going toward the criminals, Dan comes across a road grader, they climb aboard, Fletcher operates the grader and heads at the criminals.
Davidson fires the bazooka, missing the grader, he fires again, hitting the blade, the grader keeps coming, with Stocker running away. As the grader gets closer, Davidson tries to load the gun himself, Dan leaps from the grader, overpowers, cuffing him; Fletcher fires at Stocker, he stops, frisked and cuffed by Fletcher.
Dan says we will take these two in the squad; HP officer puts them in Dan car, Dan and Fletcher drive away with the two criminals.
