- [Charlie Brown and Marcie are attending the same summer camp. When Peppermint Patty calls, Marcie decides to make Peppermint Patty jealous by pretending Charlie Brown is her boyfriend]
- Peppermint Patty: Hi Marcie... Just sort of checking in. Are you and Chuck having a good time at camp?
- Marcie: Charles, I can't hear what she's saying if you keep nibbling on my ear.
- Peppermint Patty: AGGH!
- Charlie Brown: [answers phone] Hello?
- Peppermint Patty: Summer school, Chuck! I have to go to summer school! Can you believe it?
- Marcie: Ask Charles if he's going to summer camp with us.
- Peppermint Patty: Marcie asks if you're going to camp with everyone else while I'm at summer school.
- Charlie Brown: I'm sorry, all the lines in this half of the country have gone dead.
- Peppermint Patty: Don't you hang up on me, Chuck!
- Lucy van Pelt: Camp will be a good experience for you. It will help you to stand on you two feet.
- Charlie Brown: Are you going to camp too?
- Lucy van Pelt: And leave my good home? Don't be ridiculous!
- Peppermint Patty: This camp chow is good. Aren't you gonna eat, Marcie?
- Marcie: This kid has been calling me names, sir. I can't eat.
- Peppermint Patty: He upset you so much, you can't eat?
- Marcie: No, I hit him with my lunch.

- Peppermint Patty: Tell the truth. When you and Chuck were at camp, Marcie, did you do a lot of things together?
- Marcie: Well, there was the moonlight walk.
- Peppermint Patty: Moonlight walk? Aauugh!
- Marcie: Well, it wasn't much of a walk. We just got started when Charles walked into a tree.
- Kid: Name's Joe Agate. Welcome to camp.
- Charlie Brown: I'm Charlie Brown.
- Kid: [flicks Charlie Brown's nose] Nice to "nose" you.
- [slaps Charlie Brown in the back hard]
- Kid: Good to see your back.
- Kid: Got any more marbles, kid?
- Rerun van Pelt: No, but now that I know how to play, you can give them back, and we can play again.
- Kid: Hate to break it to ya, but we were playing for keeps.
- Rerun van Pelt: But I'm just a beginner. I didn't know we were playing for keeps.
- Kid: You're in the big leagues now, kid. Everything's for keeps.
