The Kingston Trio perform their hit, 'Tom Dooley.'
The Milton Berle Show begins with Red Skelton, as Freddie the Freeloader, popping in for a 30-second introduction even before Milton has his typical topical talk. Then Red will appear as the befuddled Clem Kadiddlehopper, promoted by talent agent Barney Bigmouth (Berle), who will try to sell his protégé as the answer to a recording company's frantic search for a "new sound." Barbara Nichols will be the receptionist of Charley Irving, the disc company's executive. The vocalizing Kingston Trio get into the act along with Clem, singing "Dooh, That's Love.'
