Nifty episode

Warning: Spoilers
While transporting wily con artist Etienne (an amusingly slimy and slippery portrayal by Phillipe Simon) to prison, the Tulip receives a distress call from Dr. Devon (a fine and affecting performance by Yves Beneyton). It turns out that Devon is being pursued by a band of Raiders after freeing his psychically gifted son Ryan (a credible turn by Matthew Crabbe) from an Orchard research facility. While this episode unfolds at a steady pace, builds a sizable amount of tension, and delivers some exciting action in the last third, it's still most notable for providing some additional background information on Dante (Michael Pare, good as ever); we learn that Dante was a corn farmer prior to becoming a bounty hunter and he primarily decided to become a bounty hunter in order to find his missing son Travis. Moreover, it's a lot of fun watching the shifty Etienne flirt with both Lucretia (sturdy work by Claudette Roche) and Percy (a nicely sparky Tanya Allen) as well as try to escape and elude capture. And this episode makes a valid point on how good intentions can beget severe and harmful consequences.
