Poignant episode

Warning: Spoilers
Rudolpho (an amusing turn by Stephen Marcus) instructs the crew of the Tulip to pick up a murder suspect who turns out to be Lucretia's ex-husband Eric (well played by Marc Durey), who has escaped from an Orchard medical facility where he was injected with an experimental antibody that has killed all previous recipients within 48 hours. While this episode brims with tension and delivers several exciting action set pieces (a tense and gripping chase through a hazardous asteroid field rates as as definite stirring highlight), it's the neat and illuminating background information it provides on Lucretia (top work by Claudette Roche) and the way it exposes the soft and tender interior inside her hard shell that makes this particular show so moving and special. Luicretia's love for her ex-husband and desire to take the best care of him at his time of greatest need are extremely touching. Moreover, Roche receives sturdy support from regulars Michael Pare as Dante and Tanya Allen as the ever-spunky Percy. Heather Belle-Mortmer contributes a haunting portrayal as the hologram of Dante's deceased wife Penny while Natasha Marco makes a memorably chilling appearance as sultry, yet evil medico Dr. Gardiner. And the shattering downbeat ending pack a powerfully sad punch.
