I saw this movie when it was first shown in November, 1959 and I remember it to this day.
The film moves from learning about people going about their lives, unaware of what is coming, to meteorologists tracking the storm from formation to hitting land. Warnings are issued but not always heeded. Storm scenes are interleaved with the human interest stories.
