- Ryan Atwood: You know, if you want, I can teach you a mean left-hook just in case.
- Sandy Cohen: Just in case what? You got more relatives showing up here or what?
- Ryan Atwood: I have some mean uncles.
- Frank Atwood: You don't want hit a dying man!
- Sandy Cohen: [punches Frank] Oh yes I do!
- Frank Atwood: That was a mistake, Sandy.
- Sandy Cohen: I'm right here, Frank.
- Ryan Atwood: [steps between Frank and Sandy] Hey, hey, hey that's enough!
- Ms. Tidy: [in class] We're ready when you are, Kaitlin.
- Kaitlin Cooper: [the speech that Will supplied is only a jumbled mess] Miss Tidy, there's... there's been some kind of a mix-up,
- [as Will is beaming at her]
- Kaitlin Cooper: and Will here...
- Ms. Tidy: [impatiently] No excuses, Kaitlin, let's go.
- Kaitlin Cooper: [going to make a try of this to show them all, but waffling] Buck is, like, this spoiled and pampered dog who lives the sweet life in a big house in California.
- [coming from her, that sounds all too familiar to the class]
- Kaitlin Cooper: And also he's got really pretty hair.
- [as teacher, Will and rest of class do not go for this autobiographical story, she sighs]
- Kaitlin Cooper: Then one day, like the book says, the facts of life take a fiercer aspect, and things just kind of start to suck. Buck goes through so much crap that he goes to live with some wolves. And he'd rather kill for his own food than talk to other people. I mean, not talk to other people, because he's a dog and he doesn't...
- [class is getting fed up with her tale, especially Will]
- Kaitlin Cooper: You guys know that.
- [regains some composure]
- Kaitlin Cooper: I think that... that Buck's story is kind of like a metaphor... a metaphor for being a teenager.
- [onlookers starting to see it her way, Will too]
- Kaitlin Cooper: Just like, the more crap you go through, the more you kind of wanna be alone.
- Taylor Townsend: It's like the first major test of our relationship. And I just... I really want him to see that I can be there for the serious stuff too.
- Kirsten Cohen: The fact that you're there for him, means everything.
- Taylor Townsend: [delighted] Ooh...
- [hugs her]
- Taylor Townsend: Thanks, Kiks. You're gonna make such a great mother-in-law.
- Ryan Atwood: Just so you know Seth doesn't want to get married.
- Taylor Townsend: Well it's not like Summer wants to be a "desperate housewife".
- Kirsten Cohen: Sandy, what on earth?
- Sandy Cohen: The good news is Frank Atwood is going to outlive us all. The bad news is, my hand is killing me.
- Taylor Townsend: I'll get some ice.
- Kaitlin Cooper: That was pretty good.
- Will Tutt: [thinking she's referring to his performance in the school band] Oh, you saw the halftime show?
- Kaitlin Cooper: I don't watch girls' basketball.
- [holds up her own dainty hand]
- Kaitlin Cooper: Chicks with big hands freak me out.
- Will Tutt: So you must mean, like, today in class, huh? You like that.
- Kaitlin Cooper: Maybe you're not a total geek after all. I mean, you're still a geek. But you got me pretty good. I gotta respect that.
- Will Tutt: Well, your speech was pretty good, and I gotta respect that.
- Kaitlin Cooper: It's not like I care if you respect me or not, but thanks.
- Will Tutt: [preparing to walk off] So, you got anything else to say?
- Kaitlin Cooper: No.
- [makes devil-may-care big eyes]
- Kaitlin Cooper: What else would I say?
- Will Tutt: I don't know, you're still standing here.
- Kaitlin Cooper: So are you.
- Will Tutt: [leaving, as she tags along] Do you maybe, like, wanna do something?
- Kaitlin Cooper: Something with you?
- [laughing, leaving]
- Kaitlin Cooper: I don't think so.
- Will Tutt: Good. Because I didn't wanna do nothing anyway. I was just asking. You know.
- Kaitlin Cooper: Really? Because that's what you do? Just asking people what they're doing?
- Will Tutt: [cool] Exactly. Yep.
- Kaitlin Cooper: Well, why don't you ask this guy what he's doing?
- Will Tutt: [as a band member passes in the hall] What? No, I'm good.
- Kaitlin Cooper: [calling after the guy] Hey, guy! Do you wanna do something with him? 'Cause his free later or something.
- Will Tutt: [to the guy, who is looking back] She playing. She playing.
- [to her]
- Will Tutt: Trying to be funny, huh?
- Kaitlin Cooper: Sorry.
- Summer Roberts: He is totally trying to smoke me out. He wants me to break off the engagement so he can live a long guilt-free life being a big fat victim. It is sneaky, cowardly and passive aggressive.
- Taylor Townsend: And you wish you'd thought of it first?
- Taylor Townsend: Totally.
- Summer Roberts: I meant what I said, I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful, a hundred per cent.
