When Ann's mother mentions 'Sabu' in the context of commenting on Mr. Marie's Nehru jacket, she is referring to Sabu (Sabu Dastagir, born Selar Sabu), who appeared as Mowgli in The Jungle Book (1942), a film adaptation drawn from several of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories about India. Mrs. Marie jokingly asks whether Sabu will be giving them a ride to the restaurant on his elephant. Although there is no suggestion that Mrs. Marie would know that, In India, such a feat would be done by a mahout, or elephant rider, it is an interesting coincidence that Sabu's father was a mahout, i.e. someone who works as an elephant rider.
In this episode, Lou's restaurant is called La Parisienne; however, in earlier episodes it was simply called Lou Marie's.
