I'm a big fan of John Sullivan's writing, but can't remember an episode from across any of his work that includes so much farce. If this episode is anything to go by he had a real talent for it. Oh how we miss him! From misunderstandings, to comedy punch-ups this is a brilliant episode of 'The Green Green Grass' a show that inevitably would always live in the shadow of 'Only Fools', but deserved more recognition.
John Challis and Sue Holderness as ever hold things together, but the show wouldn't be what it was without the supporting actors more than deserving every laugh they get.
The standard of the show dipped a little in series 3 and more so in series 4, so this for me reflects the show at is best.
