Sex & Nudity

  • Zero Suit Samus wears a really form-fitting outfit, unintentionally showing off her physical curves, bust and buttocks. Plus being a flexible character, does sometimes do things like pull her leg above her head.
  • Princess Peach has two different attacks that involve her backside; one involves her flying towards her opponent back end-first, where the impact results in a large smattering of hearts, and her back Throw move shows her bopping her grabbed opponent away with a single knock of the hip.
  • One of Wario's taunts involves him shaking his buttocks at the player. He is wearing pants though.
  • Some characters aren't wearing clothing, but no genitals are visible.
  • Few earnable stickers the player can get are a bit raunchy.
  • Capt. Falcon wears really tight clothes and some more senstive parents might see an ahem..."bulge".
  • The character Snake wears really tight clothes that show off his mussles and leaves his backside sitting in decent detail.
  • In a cutsence a character called Zero Suit Samus (look above) falls through a vent. The character takes a good amount of time circling around her flexible body, with an unnecessary butt shot.

Violence & Gore

  • The characters in the game fight one another with various attacks ranging from striking moves (punches, kicks, slaps, headbutts) and attacks with weapons from close-up to projectile to explosive. The point of the game is to inflict as much damage as you can to a character and send them flying off-screen with a powerful enough attack, scoring a point with each successive knock out. Each attack ranges in power and intensity depending on the level of strength; quick, weak attacks that can be strung into combos are minor in scope, and strong "Smash" attacks appear more stylized and violent. But the level of violence within the game is cartoonish and, at times, silly; no serious injuries, bloodshed or death sequences (save for the KO, which is merely a burst of colored light or a off-in-the-distance sparkle/supernova when opponents are knocked into the sky).

Profanity

  • Very mild words in trophy text and all like "stupid" and "farting". Please note that the game cannot be played online anymore so unless you have a time machine, it shouldn't be a problem.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Many types of food/drink can be eaten in-game. Some food looks like cocktails and other alcholic beaverages.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Bowser appears more realistic as opposed to other Mario games, which may frighten players.
  • This game is among the darkest game of the series due to the rating.
  • Some of the bosses could be scary. Ridley a huge pterodactyl dragon being and later mechanically modified.
  • Matches can get tense real quick the more action is presented on the screen.
  • The story mode: The Subspace Emissary has a lot of scary, dark and sad scenes to mix out with the happy and funny ones. Some cutscenes show characters sacerficing themselves for their friends/family . One of these "sacrificing cutscenes" has a charcter called Lucas running away in the rain after his friend Ness is defeated. But in these cutscenes the characters soon get restored. The only "dead" character who doesn't come back are un-playable robots that get torn apart from bombs that they have to kill themselfs to activate it. They get torn apart from limb to limb. Another one has a cloaked character get ganged up and buned to flames by foes. But he survives due to being a robot. An island where the robots live in gets blown up and doesn't come back, leaving the whole robot species extinct (besides from the robot you play as). However the island going away is subtle and isn't flatout mentioned. Kids might have to be very observeant(or have an internet conection) to know this.
  • Some bosses and enimies might be too scary for younger players. Floows are ghosts that have a frighting scream, Fieshs are flying Goldfish with a giant eyeball and Shaydas are are ghost with sword things. Tabuu is a boss that is a blue and humanoid creature that could scare young ones.
  • Link and Toon Link are characters that both have costumes that make them look all dark. This could look scary for young children.
  • Some trophies and stickers could be scary.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • The closest thing to gore happens in a cutsence of the adventure mode: The Subspace Emissary. In one of the last cutsences of the game, a charcter named Master Hand gets golden chains ripped out of his kunckles. There is some blood but it's about as gory/scary as a scraped knee.
