- Radio Grange Hill stages a sit-in protest. Jackie and Zammo begin to have second thoughts about their marriage.
- A sit in is planned for the radio station to protest about the hidden student profiles. Danny reveals Julia to be a spy, but they decide she can leak the wrong information to Mr. Bronson. Banskie and Zammo are out shopping when they bump into one of Banksie's old friends - now equipped with a wife and two young children. The responsibilities facing bridegroom-to-be Zammo are brought home sharply. At the same time, Jackie confesses her uncertainties to Fay. Back at the radio station, the protest starts, and pupils start barricading themselves in. Mrs. McClusky tries the olive branch of a private meeting, while Mr. Griffiths starts dismantling speakers. As soon as he does so, someone is following on behind, to reconnect them. The radio announces that journalists are at the gate, but it's a false alarm, to give time for the protesters to change to a secondary system in the 6th form building. An early lunch bell gives some success to the staff, and the protesters' own food supply has failed, due to an oversight in the tin-opener department. Even Gonch's cakes (a feeble attempt at profiteering) have become inedible. It seems a bit of a standoff, with Mr. Glover waiting outside, until St Joseph's boys arrive - Danny tells Mr. Bronson they are here to damage the cars, but of course they are here for the agreed fight. Realizing they have been duped, the staff return to the common room - but the protesters have left...—Geffers
