This is hardly a documentary. More like cut excessive emotional outtakes form a documentary.
Ask any veteran of any war and he or she will tell you its hell, mud and excrement rolled into breakfast. They always say they were fighting for the right thing and never questioned if it was wrong. And if they ever got their head out of the propaganda they had to eat for moral, and found out what they were really fighting for (oil, land, power, paranoia), they would probably desert immediately.
This show hardly uses any actual footage from the conflicts and instead just reenacts them. Many actors are used more than once in different conflicts and frankly I see little documented events and more emotion and whining. In fact many blunders and controversies, seen in other documentaries on the same events, are left out. Worst is that only one side of the story is covered, and it's the side of political blundering ignorance. It's horrible, especially because previous documentaries on the same events are richer in historical data, politics, tactics and other interesting stuff.
Good thing this stopped on one season and no one ever saw it.
