- Soprano of Miracles: The characters reflect on Diva's startling pregnancy. The day ends with a showdown.
- It's a beautiful summer day in North Carolina, where Saya, Haji, Kai, and the Red Shield agents have come to the military base to see Diva sing. Free ice cream bars being handed out by pretty teenage girls in short shorts are helping to counteract the warm sun, but Saya is still feeling weak and tired, so much that Haji makes her lie on a park bench in the shade. Mao and Okamura have taken seats near the stage where Diva is scheduled to appear. David is still not convinced that this isn't another trap, like at Christina Island, but he is lying low, snooping around, and maintaining contact with Lewis via walkie-talkie.
It's not a ruse this time. In fact, Diva is already at the base. Julia is also there to monitor Diva's pregnancy. Julia thinks Diva is about eight weeks pregnant, which is why she is surprised when Diva tells her that the birth is going to happen very soon. Collins is also watching the pregnancy, wanting to publish the findings and receive the accolades and praise as his due.
As the sun sets, Diva prepares to perform. She has been throwing temper tantrums lately, and when Amshel asks what she wants, she points to a photo of Kai. When Diva tells Amshel that Kai is there at the festival, Amshel goes looking for him. He finds Kai snooping around backstage and brings him to Diva. Kai's hatred for Diva has been growing ever since she killed Riku, but he is totally floored when Diva tells him that she is carrying Riku's babies. It is showtime. While Kai, Amshel, and Nathan watch from backstage and Okamura and Mao watch from the audience, Diva sings so sweetly that no one could ever suspect the evil that surrounds her. As the audience claps loudly, Collins pulls a gun on Julia in a fit of rage. Only David stepping between them saves Julia from being hit, but both David and Collins are shot in the exchange of fire. Her performance over, Diva returns to Kai's side and invites him to become her chevalier and help to protect Riku's babies, but Kai refuses. He continues to refuse even when Diva points out that, as her chevalier, Kai would be able to make babies with Saya. But when Diva points Kai's gun to her heart and tells him to pull the trigger, he refuses to do so just as Saya rushes in with her sword drawn. Unfortunately, Amshel is quicker and grabs Saya in a necklock. Haji rushes in to aid Saya, but Nathan does the same to Haji. Amshel asks Diva what should be done with Saya and Haji, and Diva suggests that they kill them in front of Kai. Having had enough of Diva, Kai aims his gun at her and fires, but Amshel catches the bullet in the palm of his hand.
Suddenly, screams are heard coming from the audience. People are beginning to turn into Chiropterrans. As the Chiropterrans turn on the people, a helicopter hovers overhead and a number of Corpse Corps soldiers leap out and begin attacking the Chiropterrans, while Van Arjano captures it on film in order to demonstrate the prowess of his special forces unit to the Pentagon.
Meanwhile, as Amshel's arm tightens around Saya's neck, Solomon Goldsmith suddenly appears. He rescues Saya from Amshel's hold, reminds Amshel that his life now belongs to Saya, and flies away with her. Haji wrestles his way out of Nathan's arms, bids goodbye to Kai, and flies off after Saya.
