- The kids deal with their loss. David locates another facility where the monsters might be kept, this time in Vietnam.
- Saya wakes up to find herself on a large ship. Each of the children are taking their father's death in their own ways. Saya has been asleep for two days, Riku has shut himself in his cabin and withdrawn into a shell, and Kai is trying hard to help them recall some of their happy memories with George and to get them to eat in order to keep up their strength. After downing a bowl of soup, Saya asks Haji to tell her everything about her past, but Haji isn't so sure that she's capable of handling it yet. He does tell her that what he knows best about her is her great swordsmanship.
Meanwhile, Akirhio Okamura, a newspaper reporter with the Ryukyu Daily, who has been following the events ever since the murders at Koza High School, visits the scene of the Yanbaru bombing only to find a huge crater where the center used to be. In the rubble, which is being handled by a medical waste team, he notices an unusual number of wine bottles. Decoding the information David obtained from Yanbaru's computers, Julia has also noticed large purchases of wine from the Lycee de Cinq Flèches (School of Five Arrows), an exclusive girls' boarding school in Hanoi. She also finds mention of a murder committed 10 years ago on a local schoolgirl in which her body was drained of blood. David decides to enroll Saya in the school, so they all head for Vietnam.
Arjano has also showed up in Hanoi where he is greeted by Carl Fei-Ong, head of the Vietnam office of Cinq Flèches Pharmaceuticals.
