Terribly unfunny, disgustingly unsexy.
MarkyMarkus12 May 2014
What really needs to be said about an ecchi harem comedy that is neither funny nor sexy? Not much, but I suppose I can elaborate more on this train wreck of an anime. I'll level with you, I don't mind fan service... scratch that, I like fan service. Even borderline hentai doesn't bother me, so it's not like I some sort of prude that can't handle some boobies in my anime. The problem with eiken is that they took the idea that "guys like big boobs" and took it to the extreme were it stops being sexy and just looks unnatural and weird. It amazes me in a show meant specifically to appease T&A lovers, I can't say I find any of them attractive at all. If the fact that the show fails horribly at its main goal isn't bad enough, it is also painfully unfunny. Unless you think blatant sexual innuendo (of the creepy kind) and Phallic imagery is comedic gold. I mean, it's not like sexual innuendo and raunchy humor can't be funny, it's just that Eiken has an uncanny ability of being a blackhole of a comedy, where not even a single joke can escape its clutches. Seriously, it is horrendously unfunny. At best, I guess you could watch this out of morbid curiosity and chuckle at how bad it fails at being funny and sexy, but if you want to just watch a decent ecchi comedy, I would recommend something like Highschool DxD or the manga Monster Musume. Both are miles ahead of this abomination.

Closer to Hentai than Ecchi
TheExpatriate70022 June 2014
I watched Eiken on the basis of how incredibly ridiculous it looked. The exaggerated breasts of the characters had to be good for a few laughs. However, the show turned out to be more disappointing and borderline disturbing than I could imagine.

The show has a typical ecchi plot, with a newcomer at a Japanese high school trying to win over the girl of his dreams. What distinguishes Eiken from numerous other works is the massive size of its characters' chests. Never mind DDs-some of these girls go up to E or F cup sizes! They are more amusing than arousing to look at, at least for a few minutes.

The main problem is that the show over relies on having the characters fall into graphic sexual positions for its humor. The first time or two it's slightly amusing, but as the show becomes more graphic it becomes frankly icky, leaving the viewer with a dirty feeling more like one would get from a hentai. Particularly disgusting are the bits where they make food look like ejaculate.

Particularly disturbing is that all of this centers around minors. Even one of the prepubescent characters has massive breasts, lending the whole show a frankly creepy atmosphere. All in all, this show is best avoided, as literally the only good thing about it is the catchy theme tune.

A very stupid excuse for a anime
Angels_Review19 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
These poor poor girls with large breasts… They are just like little sticks with two huge beach balls that should be pulling them down to the ground. What is the point of this show? It's just there to see breasts and panties of girls who have probably had plastic surgery to enlarge their breasts. Seriously, its as though they are in the same competition as Maxi Mounds and Sheyla Hershey. (Haven't heard of them? They are in compaction for Genius Book of World Records for the biggest artificially made breasts. Just the images make me scared.) This should really have been a hentai instead of just an Ecchi. It's has little to no plot and what it does gets lost in the sea of breasts. Alrgiht…. Lets get down to the technical side of this stupid anime… unfortunately, you may be as disgusted at I was.

Every character is pretty much a stereotype although one thing seems to keep the girls all together… that is, their breasts. Densuke is a normal main character in a lot of harems, rather stupid and normal… yes, throughout this entire thing, there is one normal character. He has nothing really going for him though all the girls love him and want to be around him. The only other male character we could talk about is Shima and he is a typical rival of Densuke for Chiharu's heart. He's a smart ass and thinks he's better then everyone else.

Now on to the stupid females… Chiharu is the shy soft-spoken girl who is clumsy and rather Moe. She has two melons on her chest and seems to always get into rather strange predicaments with them. She sadly has to wear bras that are two small which make her pop out of them a lot… (Sorry… I just threw up a little.) Kirika is a really tall G-cup breasted girl. She is the one that gives Densuke a hard time by pushing his head into her breasts or her butt and puts a lot of phallic food into her mouth. Those that do not have a dictionary, it means something shaped like an erect penis. She also eats said food in a rather seductive manner (It's not seductive… its just plain stupid looking). So… um… next is Komoe and I'm going to stop after her because I don't think I can actually show my disgust anymore or even hold in my lunch. She is a pink-haired 6th grader with boobies the size larger then Chiharu… and now we can stop talking about the characters because we have gone way out of my comfort zone.

The artwork suffers greatly on the proportion side of things, and everything is made to try to get an arousal out of someone. There are a lot of things that are made to look like something rather perverted. The town they live in seems to look like a large breast with a very hard nipple; Raman is made to look like cum, and just a lot of stupid things that can get lost in ones head. All of the shows humor revolves around many suggestive images like girls swimming in a swimming pool full of yogurt… and there goes the rest of my lunch.

The voices are so bad, I cringed. No one can figure out how to actually talk well or pronounce the names at all. The Music…. Was there really any music? I didn't figure out if there was or not and if there was, it was much to low to hear.

All in all, don't ever make me watch it again!

I like raunchiness and even I hate this.
gamergunk4224 July 2022
I get that it's a sex comedy but, the innuendos never stop. And when I mean they never stop, I mean they NEVER STOP. Everyone is either covered in fluids, bouncing their badonkers like no tomorrow, or eating stuff that looks like two balls and a stick. It could've been funny, but it happens so many times it gets annoying. If the creators wanted to make porn, they should've just make porn and not waste an hour of my time with this pandering nonsense. Also apparently these are middle schoolers. That's weird even by Japan's age of consent.

Full of fan-service stuff, but really funny!!
kristinaa20 January 2007
This show is not for children.

This is about a boy named Densuke who recently began to attend a new school with basically all girls. He is inducted into the exclusive Eiken Club, and all members are girls with very large busts. The Eiken Club participates in various extracurricular activities (usually in bikinis). His main interest is a shy very large busted girl named Chiharu.

The main premise of the show is to show Densuke accidentally either see Chiharu naked, touch Chiharu (or any other girl), etc. Chiharu's sister is constantly trying to force Densuke to become attracted to her usually by making him touch her and saying very sexually suggestive things.

However, every embarrassing or sexual thing he does is truly by accident and the show is so ridiculous that is is funny.

Recommended due to the hilarity of the fan-service.

Hilarious, unique series unfairly maligned because it was and still is socially unacceptable to be sexually perverse
oninagiinochi14 October 2022
This is an insanely funny series that I put in the same category as the likes of Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemi. Whether you agree with me entirely depends on your hang-ups regarding sexual content or how harshly you want to judge the creators and fans of Eiken for what you assume is the reason for its existence - sexual depravity. Whither you find it sexy or not, that SHOULD be irrelevant, because I'd hope most people either way realize that almost everything about this, in terms of story, visuals, characters, and dialogue, is obviously supposed to be ridiculous and over-the-top. It's the ridiculousness that makes it funny. And Kirika, especially, is still one of the funniest and most unique female characters of all time for me, which brings me to my only gripe - this anime is more like an ad for the manga series. It gets the jist of the comedy and atmosphere of the manga series right, as well as adapting some of the story from the first few chapters, but it's only a drop in the bucket compared to the manga's content. It's too bad more of the manga wasn't adapted.

Sure, some people might find the character designs and scenarios to be sexually arousing in this anime, if they're into any of what it has to offer, but generally I think the real main focus is to be hilarious. If you're too busy being upset by what you're seeing from a self-righteous perspective, you won't have any time to laugh. But if you do find yourself laughing, I highly recommend checking out the manga, which (believe it or not) WAS actually was translated to English and distributed in North America (and yet the Kenichi series never got that treatment? Unbelievable).

As a side note, there's next to no violence in this, any violence in it is entirely slapstick and meant for laughs. There's also no actual nudity, just some "almost nudity". Hard to believe so many people actually see this as a total "hentai", an English loan-word from Japan used to describe hardcore animated porn (but means sexual perversion in Japanese). No, there's no sex happening in this anime or in the manga.

Very Well Done For What It Is
jameshemphil21 November 2021
There are people who criticize Eiken by saying it somehow "lacks plot" or the jokes are too raunchy. Don't listen to them. It's a fun little romp and it's meant as fanservice and personal enjoyment. Criticizing Eiken for not having a coherent plot is like criticizing Star Wars for having too many spaceships. It's fun, it's funny, it's sexy, 10/10.

Go watch it. :-)
