Storyline

Jaya and Suman, two college mates, once best of friends, are today's sworn enemies. Jaya is in love with Rajesh, who also uses to study in the same college, and who leaves no opportunity to praise Suman just to annoy Jaya although he does reciprocate her feelings. But seeing them together infuriates Rakesh, who also loves Jaya deeply. Jaya and Rajesh get married and Jaya's mother gives her some 'tips' on post marriage behavior, little knowing how much problems the same is going to create for her. Written by Everest Entertainment

This is a one those underrated and almost lost gems from Marathi cinema of late 90's that once you watch, you would love it all the way...

TITLE Shubha Mangal Saavadhan 2006

THE SYNOPSIS The film revolves around the clash of two cultures, village culture and city culture, caused between a rich farmer and the wife of a city based industrialist, after their children marry each other.

Release date: 2006 (India) and not in 1992 Director: Mahesh Kothare Producers: M.S. Salvi, Satyajit Kulkarni Cast- Ashok Saraf, Reema Lagoo, Reema Lagoo, Urmila Kanitkar, Niranjan Namjoshi, Makarand Anaspure, Varsha Usgaonkar, Rekha Rao, Nirmiti Sawant, Swati Chitnis etc.

AT LAST, IT IS SHAME TO SAY THAT EVEN THE POSTER IS NOT OF THE FILM.

Review- There are two families both of their own ethnic, culture, taste, style, attitude, thinking, perspectives, and many other views that makes equivalent of north and south pole, which doesn't meet in destiny. But then one of the kids from both sides gets into love of one another and it is just the meeting of the parents that will decide the future, present and past of the couple.

At one side, which is basically the rich and city living side we have a cast of Reema Lagoo, the mother and the son, Niranjan Namjoshi and at the other side, we have the poor (not so.. that you think of, poor) and the village living side we have a cast of Ashok Saraf, Nirmiti Sawant as father and the maternal side mother (MAMI) Urmila Kanitkar as the daughter.

And how their parents gets into scuffle of making their own views more dominating and important and how it affects the marriage of their children and consequently their grandchild.

At first, you'll ignore this film as a buffoonery sort of but if you give time and then you'll see how great and how influential this film is when you think from one of the sides.

Not detailing much, this film has ample moments of fun and learning, and once again we see the best comical timings both from Ashok Saraf and Reema Lagoo who both have carved a cult image with their respective shows like Hum Paanch and Shrimaan Shrimati who with essence and heart, act clearly with simplicity but equal complexity.

Best is when you get to see the clashes of ideals and ideas between the parents. It's Indian answer to Father of the Bride.

There's a even a upcoming Bollywood movie with same name starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar produced by Aanand L Rai famous for Tanu Weds Manu series, Raanjhanaa and Nil Battey Sannata.
