An average end to the series.

The day is ruined at Supafare when the VAT man turns up, and a purchase of a bed raises a few questions.

It's a pretty feeble final episode, once again the gags are well delivered, but poorly written, you can't fault the efforts of the cast, Rossiter in particular is great, but up against it with the script. The final scene with the clock was mildly amusing.

This marks the end of the show as Rossiter had sadly passed away, the show would return as Slinger's Day, with Bruce Forsyth, I'll have to check it out.

Edwin Richfield is pretty funny as Mr Higgingbottom, Jeanette Charles was the spitting image of The Queen, and was well known for appearing as her, a true lookalike.

Not great, but watchable, 5/10.

The final episode of Tripper's Day and Tripper has to prepare for an audit by the VAT inspector.

Tripper hopes to hide a receipt of a water bath that he bought and claimed the VAT back for.

However a ticking noise in a box cuts the audit short. Luckily for Tripper, the VAT Inspector used to be in the bomb disposal squad.

A scattered episode. There is someone who looks like the Queen who has popped down to shop for some champagne, caviar and dog biscuits.

However it seemed too much like the writers were desperately trying to make it funny. It was a case of never mind the quality feel the width.

Maybe Leonard Rossiter deserved better for his final work. At least he had Reginald Perrin and Rising Damp. He was also in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
