Love is in the air for Flora
Sleepin_Dragon23 August 2015
It's the eve of St George's day, and true blue Flora is digging out the Union Jack and a picture of Winston Churchill to decorate the Resident's Lounge. Miss Milton gets wind of it and puts a stop to it. Cissie bursts in to the resident's lounge with hot news, Miss Milton has gone to collect her Uncle from the airport, who's come to stay. Flora is dismayed to hear that he's from Dusseldorf, so just as he's due to arrive she dons her ill fitting siren suit, which she last wore on VJ day, and puts up her flag and picture of Churchill. The residents are stunned when Klaus takes a shine to Flora, and they end up hitting it off. Flora has cleared the lounge of any residents so she and Klaus can talk, that is until Cissie turns up, a gooseberry with Jelly babies. Flora gets dressed up and the two go out to dinner there's talk of wedding bells, but Flora must choose Klaus or Cissie.

This is a lovely episode, I never thought we'd get to see a romance for Flora she's normally such a tough character, but it's nice to see her glam up and enjoy being romanced. Some of the German clichés are a little silly, and as usual Patrick Newell is love or hate, good fun.

And Cissie Makes Three
Prismark1014 September 2017
Bring out the World War 2 jokes as well as an oversized picture of Winston Churchill. It is the eve of St George's Day and Flora wants to celebrate it.

Miss Milton is having none of it specially as she tripped over Flora's tin warden helmet from World War 2 and injured herself. When news spreads that Miss Milton's Uncle Klaus is flying in from Germany to visit Paradise Lodge, Flora is determined to keep the British end up.

However Flora's attitude to Germans take an about turn when Uncle Klaus takes a shine to Flora but is none too pleased with dippy Cissie.

It is nice to see a softer side of Flora, charmed by Uncle Klaus and his mangling of the English language.
