The problems a simple game of Monopoly can cause are evident here. Flora's bending the rules and pinching money from the bank, while a vacant Flora is more aloof then ever, the Water works causes problems with Cissie's own works. On her way to the W.C. Cissie tries putting the ladder away with poor Miss Milton on it, Miss Milton is left bed ridden and Paradise Lodge is rudderless, that is until the terrible Mr King turns up, an ex secondary school teacher with an eye for discipline. It's not long before Paradise Lodge becomes an Institution, and cards are dished out for indiscipline. All the ladies don tracksuits, and are sent out for a run, naturally all cheat and face further discipline. In protest they climb on to the roof to sing, but pretty soon the ladder is kicked away and so are all the goodies. An absent minded Cissie explains that the grievance letter intended for Miss Milton is still in her shoe, so nobody knows where they are......
Another very different and funny episode, David Lodge is good fun as Mr King, and adds something very different to the series. Finally someone that leaves Peggy Mount lost for words. Funny. 7/10
