Such a sweet episode
Sleepin_Dragon21 August 2015
This is possibly the cutest episode of the comedy.

Flora is in bed reading her True Romances, and hears a baby crying, she rushes downstairs to find a baby left on the doorstep. The whole house is woken, Flora goes to make the baby a cuppa and Cissie steps in, she's dressed the baby in her cardie and baptised 'Margaret Rose' with Lucozade. Miss Milton's rule book forbids babies, so all the stops are pulled out to hide the baby from her. Mildred takes a turn, when a card turns up from Damian saying he's left her a surprise, she's not happy as she's not baby minded, and all are stunned at how Damian and Norman managed a baby, but all is put right when the real carer turns up.

This is a lovely, sweet and funny episode. For the first time the main reason for all the humour is Miss Milton, she has some hilarious moments, particularly when she thinks she's seeing things. Really lovely innocent fun. 8/10

The Foundling

Everybody goes a little gaga as Flora after saying her prayers hears the sound of a crying baby and discover a child left on the doorstep of Paradise Lodge.

While Flora goes to get the baby something to eat, Cissie finds it and calls her Margaret Rose and baptises it with Lucozade. Cissie does not even check whether the baby is a boy or girl.

Flora calls the baby Charles Andrew after discovering he is a boy but it transpires that Mildred's gay son has sent a card telling her that he is sending her a surprise. She thinks the baby is his despite it being rather unlikely.

A policeman later pick up Cissie at Mothercare for causing an obstruction and cannot believe the baby could be hers. Flora later finds out that the baby's grandfather is 'Wally Batty' who has his grand-kids staying with him and had left the baby to be cared for temporarily as his wife had to be taken to hospital after breaking a tibia.

The old dears show their caring side in this episode with much confusion as to who the baby could belong to. Even Flora is sweet. The poor sergeant at the police station, he will never forget his encounter with Cissie.
