greatest band no one knows
What happened to the 77s was a crime; they were a group of great talent and artistic vision who were "ghettoized" because they sprang out of the Christian music world. Even after glowing reviews from Rolling Stone magazine, they could get no love from the marketing folks in corporate music who program what we are allowed to hear on the radio. And their artistic vision did not fit into any comfortable Christian niche (i/e many of their songs were about things other than religious doctrine). They were literally men without a metaphorical country . . . The saving grace in all this is that great art will survive even if it unappreciated at its origin. Enjoy . . .
