The mine is called FAC-51, a reference to the Haçienda night club in Manchester England (1982-1997) which lead to the rise in popularity of acid house and rave culture. The club was primarily funded by Factory Records and FAC-51 is it's catalogue number. The club was also co-owned by the new wave band New Order. New Order's biggest hit Blue Monday was used as the title of Eureka Seven episode 1 (2005).
The title of this episode is a reference to the song of the same name by Scottish alternative rock band Del Amitri (1989).
