Bowler has been trying to get Eric to work for him without success. Tickler ( Chris Gannon ), a seedy crook, overhears Mr.Duffy talking to his son and Sharon in The Three Feathers pub. Eric's dad, a long distance lorry driver, will be on the road the next day with a lorry load of Scotch. He goes to Bowler, offering to steal it for him.
At a roadside café, Sharon is introduced to Eric's fearsome Auntie Maudie ( Pat Nye ). She has seen Tickler and his mate in there before, and warns Mr.Duffy that they may be after his load. Mr.Duffy and his son corner the would-be thieves in the gents, and remove their clothes, leaving them fuming in their underwear...
As you might expect from the title, this is a parody of the famous Western 'High Noon' starring Gary Cooper. When Eric and his dad escape with the Scotch intact, Bowler decides to teach them a lesson by hiring thugs to beat them up, among them Reg ( Fred Beauguard ), later to figure prominently in the 'Bowler' spin-off. Just as it looks hopeless for the Duffys, along comes Dennis and Frankie! ( No Craven though, as Bowler is still his boss ). What happens next is not clear, but it appears that our heroes win the day, though not without a few cuts and bruises.
Pat Nye was the awful cook 'Mrs.Savage' in the 'Please Sir!' episode 'Out Of The Frying Pan'.
Funniest moment - Frankie swaggering as usual in The Three Feathers only to realise there are real gangsters standing behind him!
The Gang would next be seen on Christmas Day, in a short sketch in I.T.V.'s 'All-Star Comedy Carnival'.
