Good Interview with the Writer of Species
The Origin: Making 'Species' (2004)
*** (out of 4)
This twelve-minute featurette is an interview with SPECIES writer Dennis Feldman who discusses the highs and lows of screen writing. He basically starts off talking about how he got involved with the film and why he did as much research as he could on stuff dealing with DNA and cloning. From here he gets into the actual production of the film and what it's like to see your words spoken by the actors as well as some of the stuff you wrote not end up on the screen. For the most part I thought this was a very entertaining interview that had the writer speaking honestly about the film in question. I really liked his thoughts on certain changes that were done to his screenplay and how he enjoys what the director brought to it more than what he took away.
