Jessica Simpson can’t catch a break with her fans. After she posted a photo of herself and daughter, Maxwell Drew, 11, in revealing outfits with the caption “take your Barbie to work,” fans weren’t having it. Many called the excessive make-up and clothing choices “inappropriate” for an 11-year-old.
The photo was taken at PetSafe Unleashed event in L.A.
One wrote, “She’s 11!!!!! Slow it down… “Pretty baby” flashbacks…..”
Another commented: “If you would ask me I would have guessed her age to be 13 14 by the way she was dressed and looked. We try to age faster than we need to. We all try to look older when we were younger. It’s up to the parents to make sure that we dress appropriately for our age. Beautiful girl beautiful mother.”
This comes on the heels of an outpouring of fan concern about Simpson’s dramatic weight loss in recent months.

“Abbott Elementary” and “Top Gun: Maverick” received top honors at the 60th annual International Cinematographers Guild (Icg) Publicists Awards luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday.
The awards honor individual publicists, unit still photographers and entertainment journalists who further publicity campaigns for film and TV. Variety’s senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay and senior entertainment reporter Angelique Jackson each earned nominations from Icg.
Quinta Brunson of “Abbott Elementary” received the TV showman of the year honor, and the producers of “Top Gun: Maverick” received the honor on the film side, with Bruckheimer accepting on behalf of all four.
In her speech, Brunson had the crowd laughing as she commended the role of publicists. “I didn’t know that this award show existed…but I’m happy that it does exist, because you all do a job that is incredible, crucial and underappreciated,” Brunson said. “It’s important to have publicists who understand the vision,...

Channel 4's divisive Benefits Street returns with a second series next week (May 11), following the fraught lives of the residents on Kingston Road's Tilery Estate in Stockton-On-Tees.
With one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, Stockton-On-Tees is an impoverished area hit hard by economic decline, and residents of Kingston Road are constantly campaigning for a park or recreational area for the children in the close-knit community.
"Right at the heart of this - the increasing divide between rich and poor, the increasing prominence of welfare as a subject in the public eye - means that it's a really, really important subject," Channel 4's head of documentaries Nick Mirsky explains.
"And it's right that Channel 4 should be looking at it, and it's right that Channel 4 looked at it last year and takes a look at it this year," he adds.
The heart of the four-part documentary is,...

"We all piss out of the same hole, s**t out of the same hole and come out of the same hole," says Stockton-on-Tees resident Sue Griffiths ahead of the return of Channel 4's controversial documentary series Benefits Street. It's a frank summary of how Sue feels that benefit claimants shouldn't be considered any less of a person.
Kingston Road's Tilery Estate in north-east England is the new location for series two of Benefits Street, as chosen by Channel 4 and Great British Bake Off producers Love Productions. Kieran Smith, Love's creative director for factual programming, explains that the estate was selected in part because of its "strong sense of community".

New York -- Jordan and Argentina took home their first-ever International Emmys as U.K. shows added seven to their country's collection at Monday's ceremony in New York.
That's one more than the Brits won in each of the past two International Emmy competitions. "Life on Mars" again took home the prize for best drama series for its final season on the BBC; it also won in 2006.
Jordan's "The Invasion," produced by Arab Telemedia Prods., won in the telenovela category. It's a love story about a Palestinian during 2002's Israeli military operation. "Television por la identidad," from Argentina's Telefe Contenidos, won for TV movie/miniseries. The mini focuses on how an organization of women rescued their grandchildren after the children's mothers disappeared during the 1976-83 dictatorship.
Beyond that, though, most of the rest of the night belonged, as always, to the Brits. Along with the country's win for "Mars," David Suchet...
