This comedy series is centred Yuno, a girl who has realised her dream of attending the prestigious Yamabuki Art High School. This means living away from home in the Hidamari Apartments with fellow students. These are Miyako, who is in her class, and Hiro and Sae, a pair of second years. At school they are taught primarily by Yoshinoya, a woman whose dress sense seems to be more like cosplay, although she denies it.
There isn't really a plot to speak of; we just see various snapshots of the girls' lives... and this is a lot of fun because the characters are a pleasure to be with. They are funny, without being too unrealistic. The animation style is distinctive; the characters look drawn in a way gives an innocence to scenes that might be seen as fan service in other series. If you are looking for a series with an ongoing story or wacky antics this probably won't be for you but if you like relatively normal people doing ordinary things in a funny way then this is one to watch.
