Meryl Streep has won Oscars, Emmys, a bevy of Golden Globes and multiple SAG Awards. She was awarded the AFI Life Achievement Award, a Kennedy Center Honor and even the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama. If there’s an award, Streep has probably won it. But there’s a prize that has eluded her all these years: the Grammy. This year she received her seventh nomination from the recording academy. Will she finally take the trophy home?
This year she’s up for Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording for “Big Tree,” the audio book recording of Brian Selznick‘s middle-grade adventure novel. She was previously nominated five times for recording children’s projects: “The Velveteen Rabbit,” “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” “The Tailor of Gloucester,” “The One and Only Shrek” and “Charlotte’s Web.” And she has one musical nomination for her contributions to the “Mamma Mia!

When Jared Leto Gave A Dead Pig As A Gift To His Suicide Squad Cast (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Jared Leto in the role of Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad might not have been successful enough at the theatres, but he did leave the cast and crew horrified with his ghastly gifts. From giving an*l beads and using c*ndoms to live animals, the actor left everyone shocked with the method actor in him. Today, we brought you a throwback to when Leto presented his cast with a dead pig; his co-star Viola Davis once shared the incident, and here’s what she said.
The comic book movie came out in 2016 and featured many eminent Hollywood actors, including Will Smith, Viola, and Margot Robbie. Leto received a lot of criticism for his role, and many call his version of the titular Gotham villain allegedly the worst in the lot.

5 Times Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark Was Not A Self-Centered Snob Like Others Perceive Him (Picture Credit: Facebook & IMDb)
Robert Downey Jr has ruled our hearts with his fantastic portrayal of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tony’s character was described beautifully by the man himself in The Avengers in 2012. He is a genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist, but Captain America Steve Rogers’s response to this called him selfish. Not just in this movie time and again, Tony has been perceived as a self-centered and narcissistic human being. But is that all?
Tony turned out to be one of the most loved MCU characters, mainly because of Rdj. The MCU started its journey with Iron Man in 2008, and since the first film, he has proved that Tony is not just an egomaniacal; he has a heart, too. Cillian Murphy has established himself as an accomplished actor with his films in Hollywood. He might as well get his first Oscar for this year’s Oppenheimer. The actor is like Hollywood’s Dark Horse, who has an excellent grip on the dark and gritty genre, and his Peaky Blinders series receives a lot of love and appreciation from the viewers. Murphy is very devoted to his craft; he left vegetarianism for his role in the British crime series and allegedly smoked thousands of cigarettes for it, too. Yes, you read that right. Cillian puffed on numerous ciggies for his role as Tommy Shelby.

It’s been quite a decade (and a bit) for Signature Entertainment. Having launched in 2011 as a U.K. DVD distribution business (its first release: the live-action/animated adaptation of the classic British children’s book The Velveteen Rabbit), the company — set up by former DVD salesman Marc Goldberg — has evolved and grown with the changing times. It became a major player in the home entertainment space as digital and streamers took over, expanded its distribution into Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the U.S., and also moved into production.
Signature Film’s first title was the Dave Bautista-starring 2018 action thriller Final Score, a film Goldberg describes as “Die Hard in a football stadium” (and a film that also saw him blow up — on camera, at least — the former stadium of his beloved soccer team West Ham United, whose chairman, David Sullivan, happens to be a major Signature...

Lost Ollie Director Peter Ramsey On Treating VFX Teams Like True Collaborators [Exclusive Interview]
"Lost Ollie" is a new animation/live-action hybrid show that tells the story of a lost patchwork bunny embarking on a fantastical adventure to try and reunite with his best friend, a human boy named Billy. Along the way, he faces wonders, horrors, betrayal, action, and more. In her review for /Film, Shania Russell wrote: "'Lost Ollie' doesn't need to be a grand epic or end-of-the-world type quest. It's still a beautiful reminder of what it feels like to be wandering and what it truly means to find your way home."
The show may tread familiar ground compared to stories in "Toy Story" or "The Velveteen Rabbit," but it manages to stand out thanks to great animation from Ilm and a series of emotional gut punches that hit as hard as any Pixar movie. "Lost Ollie" is Netflix's latest limited series, an animation/live-action hybrid with a narrative that will be familiar to everyone who has seen "Toy Story" or "The Velveteen Rabbit." It follows a patchwork bunny who has lost his human and best friend, Billy, and subsequently embarks on an epic adventure to be reunited with him.
The series packs more emotional gut punches than any warning can prepare you for, but it is still a delightful and fun adventure in the vein of a Mark Twain novel. It also has an incredible cast that includes Jonathan Groff, Tim Blake Nelson, Mary J. Blige, Gina Rodriguez, and Jake Johnson. Sure, the mid-point can be a bit repetitive and slow, but the pay-off of the show can easily cue the waterworks. Is there a more universal experience than the festering fear of looking around and realizing you're lost? It happens to children and adults, and evidently, it's also a very common occurrence for toys. "Lost Ollie" certainly isn't the first time we've seen a beloved toy embark on a dangerous journey to find its way home, but it might very well be the most adorable. To be fair, this particular story has the advantage of following Ollie, the world's cutest stuffy — a patchwork bunny with unbeatable spirit and the voice of Jonathan Groff.
When he wakes to find himself in an unfamiliar place, it's up to Ollie to swallow his fear and begin a quest filled with danger, mystery, and more emotional gut punches than one can honestly prepare for. And why put himself through all that? Because somewhere out there is Billy (Kesler Talbot), a young boy who needs his favorite toy.

Given how much awards voters love Meryl Streep, it may be surprising that she’s only halfway to the Egot grand slam of showbiz awards. She’s a three-time Oscar winner and three-time Emmy winner, but she doesn’t have a Grammy or a Tony yet. Well, she could cross Grammy off her list since she earned a nomination this year for Best Spoken Word Album for a recording of the children’s classic “Charlotte’s Web.”
This isn’t her first try at the Grammys. This is actually her sixth nomination, and almost all of those have been for children’s audiobooks. She was first nominated for Best Recording for Children in 1986 for “The Velveteen Rabbit.” Then she earned two nominations in that category in 1989 for “The Tailor of Gloucester” and “The Tale of Peter Rabbit.” And in 2008 she was nominated for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for “The One and Only Shrek.

The classic children’s tale The Velveteen Rabbit is getting a new TV adaptation that will feature a mix of live-action and animation.
The series is being developed by Tom Bidwell, who recently worked on the series adaptation of Watership Down for BBC and Netflix. He’s also teamed up with Magic Light Pictures, who has worked on animated specials that include adaptations of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes and several of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s books, including The Gruffalo, Stick Man, and Zog.
The Velveteen Rabbit was written by Margery Williams , and the classic 1922 story centers on a boy and his beloved toy rabbit.
At first a brand-new toy, now a threadbare and discarded nursery relic, the velveteen rabbit is saved from peril by a magic fairy who whisks him away to the idyllic world of Rabbitland. There, he becomes "Real," a cherished childhood companion who will be loved for eternity.

Flesh and Bone, Season 1
Created by Moira Walley-Beckett
Aired Sundays at 8 pm Et on Starz
Over the past few years, Starz has made its mark on the tv landscape with numerous shows, from Spartacus to Party Down. Their latest series, from Breaking Bad writer Moira Walley-Beckett, delves into the world of ballet dancing. Titled Flesh and Bone, the miniseries explores the world from the perspective of the people associated with the American Ballet Company, and while there are some strong ideas and themes presented, the series unfortunately fails to develop them effectively.
The season’s focus is on power and control, most notably the type that is exerted over women by men. The effects that control has over different characters is by far the most compelling aspect of the season, starting from Claire’s attempts to get out of the control of the men surrounding her. Ross: “Which movement do you want?”
Paul: “Childhood.”
F.U.B.A.R is messier, less visually stimulating, and broader than the hard-hitting ‘M.I.A,’ an unending procession of gloom and doom which spends far too long showing us how fucked up each and every character is when it comes to work, love, and family. The holidays, stressful even for people who aren’t terminally ill or in thrall to petty tyrants, are a showcase of horrors in the world of Flesh and Bone. Kiira sharing a moment of collusion with a child who sneaked off from Thanksgiving to get wasted, Claire resuming her incestuous sexual relationship with Bryan, Paul spitefully terrorizing his dancers after Toni makes him jealous, and the open wound of a human being that is Claire and Bryan’s father are all sad things to look at, but there isn’t much to F.U.

The Velveteen Rabbit
Stars: Jane Seymour, Tom Skerritt, Ellen Burstyn, Matthew Harbour, Kevin Jubinville, Michael Sinelnikoff | Written by Michael Landon Jr. & Cindy Kelley | Directed by Michael Landon Jr.
Having never read the Velveteen Rabbit story this adaptation is based on, or seen any other film or television version, I was somewhat interested to see what all the fuss was about; obviously this is a story well worth adapting as it is done so frequently. In this version, a young boy (Matthew Harbour) is left to his own devices in his strict grandmother’s (Jane Seymour) house and retreats into a fantasy world of his own creation, populated by animated toys long forgotten by their previous owners, including the titular rabbit.
