In Gigantic Digital Cinema's first venture with an established distributor, First Run Features' "Bliss" will be released online as a streaming download at giganticdigital.com day-and-date with its opening at New York's Cinema Village on Aug. 7.
Gigantic Digital Cinema streams films at the highest possible quality and commercial-free for a ticket price of $2.99.
In the New York metropolitan area -- as well as in other markets where theatrical engagements are booked or anticipated -- the online version won't become available until at least two weeks after the theatrical runs.
Based on the novel by Omer Zulfu Livaneli, "Bliss" (Mutluluk), produced and directed by Abdullah Oguz, is set in Turkey and looks at the subject of honor killings.
In a separate venture, on Aug. 26, Gigantic will release Smush Media's documentary "Motherland."...
