Mediocre episode
gangstahippie21 September 2008
Lice Capades is another mediocre episode of South Park.Still good but not as good as the other ones.In this episode, the lice epidemic breaks out.Clyde knows for a fact he has it and is worried when Cartman and the others try to find out who has the lice.Meanwhile it shows the civilization of lice and a disaster that happens to them.It shows one of the lice as sort of the hero of the story after his wife and child die(as well as many of the other lice). He tries to rebuild civilization. This is sort of a spoof of those dramatic disaster movies.Like most episodes of South Park, there are some fairly funny parts but overall, its just a mediocre episode.

Run, Kenny, Run

Warning: Spoilers
So the third episode Lice Capades is actually really interesting, certainly strange since it has talking lice, is a really good episode. So basically and apart of the plot with the boys we have a "movie" with the lice as protagonists, is a typical movie, the protagonist realizes that the world is conscience, that the world doesn't want them any more, the world is aware of their affect on it so the protagonist tries to alert everybody but certainly nobody believes him, the disaster happens leaving almost the entire community dead. Is really funny this part of the episode, the hero is son damn typical, is a dreamer who believes in another worlds, their world is Clyde's head and their tragic was caused because Clyde was finally aware of their existence so he used special shampoo. So the story with the boys is this: is known that a lice problem affected the South Park Elementary then the boys and girls need to be checked. By the end we know that actually every boy and every girl had lice but at first we only know about the fact that Clyde has lice. Is really great since we know that Clyde has lice but also he seems to be the only one really nervous because of that since the boy or girl with lice will be certainly pointed and will be subject of a lot of fun. So the boys are acting just as they would act if they were the ones with lice, Cartman is seems to be really angry because of the fact that Mrs. Garrison doesn't told them who was the one with lice (for obvious reasons) and now he is simply trying to blame somebody, Kyle blames Cartman, Stan is trying to turn this not into a big deal, Kenny is just there saying nothing and Clyde is really nervous. Is just fantastic the stuff of John Carpenter's The Thing, basically Cartman does that blood test only to find that Kenny is the one with lice so Kenny runs! When we know that every boy and girl had lice we know that the fake experiment of Cartman would have worked with everyone since every boy would have run but certainly Cartman wanted to blame the poor kid. Nice episode, recommended.

Weak Third Show
KingMFreak21 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Season 11 was going strong for two episodes, and the streak has sadly ended with Lice Capades, a rather dull addition to the South Park library. This time around, lice is the big issue, and the creators an interesting take on it.

Two parallel stories are followed, one with Clyde (one of the lesser seen South Park kids) acquiring head lice and then hiding this fact from the other kids because he fears he will be punished and humiliated.

The other story follows the lice living in Clyde's head, as they seem to have set up a colony and flourish. The storyline follows that of a basic disaster movie, providing the funniest moments of the episode, as when Clyde uses lice killing shampoo and we get to see how they react.

I was very excited for this season as Matt and Trey announced that their writer's retreat was rather successful and they had more then enough ideas to fill the season. Evidently they were lying, as this felt like another one of their last ditch efforts that they made in a matter of days. Sometimes those episodes work, other times they don't.

Or maybe too much thought went into the episode. Overall, it's rather dull and doesn't contain a real "shock" moment (except maybe the ending shot), and no real big laughs. It was nice to see them get back to a basic storyline that really had no preachy messages for us, but at the same time, it felt like a very dry episode.

Maybe it's because I was so excited for last week's episode (and that I loved it so much) I spent all my energy for a while. I didn't really feel compelled to watch it.

I'm still waiting for the 24 episode, which will probably my night in heaven, as 24 and South Park are my two favorite shows and seeing them merge is like a dream in heaven. We'll see. Matt and Trey just need to remember that the original stories can work, they just need to be interesting (see Scott Tenorman or the Woodland Critters).
