Glow in the dark
ctomvelu-11 January 2009
A glowing corpse has Homeland Security momentarily worried about a radiation spill. The truth turns out to be far stranger and takes a bit of time to unravel. The dead person was a popular chef/restaurant owner, and a young female at that. Any good mystery fan will figure out the killer at the outset, by the way. I'm kind of sorry they gave it away so quickly. Remember "plastics" from THE GRADUATE? Here, it's the word "ceramic" that finally brings everything together. For series completists, this episode is from the second season, and the relationship between B&B is still evolving. That's always fun to watch, even if the episode doesn't grab you. Sort of like an episode of HOUSE, when the banter among the team is far more interesting than the weekly patient mystery.

Love

There are a few things going on in this episode:

1. The mystery surrounds some glowing remains found. The solution to the mystery is quite simple. The team works to figure out why it's glowing then questions several people before finally coming to an interesting truth.

2. Angela and Jack struggle over the marriage proposal. Angela talks to Brennan, who is still of the attitude that marriage is stupid and love is a mere chemical reaction - one that she doesn't want to get involved with. Jack does a sweet thing near the end of the episode and Angela makes her decision.

3. Booth and Brennan discuss the love, marriage, and relationship thing. Booth is pretty frustrated when she gets a bit personal and it's pretty obvious where is mind is going. There is a very sweet Booth/Brennan scene to end this episode - for a couple who are not dating, they sure know how to date! She dressed up nice and cooked for him and everything! But Brennan is still way too against romance for Booth to make a move. We must continue to wait a long, long time!

Hey Bones Booth Pod!

Warning: Spoilers
The glowing bones were pretty cool. Come on everyone leave Hodgins alone he's going through some stuff. Haha Booth is always down for food during a case but asking for it in the middle of questioning a suspect is a bit much. MySpace wwwooww that took me back. Oh my gosh Bone's line "You know, I'd back down if I were you, he shot a clown once" was so funny. Lol Zack is always the murder victim and has been dragged by one arm several times. I'd be frustrated too Hodgins but yyyaayy you're getting married. Awwww Bones made mac n cheese for Booth.

"Me and my partner talk baseball"
NancyPi3143 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, directed by Emily Deschanel's dad, a locally famous chef, Carly, is murdered. This upsets Brennan as she's met Carly previously and is used to murder victims being strangers. Carly is believed to have been with her friend and business partner, Abby, who is still missing. Abby is eventually found locked in the trunk of her own car where Carly was murdered. Most of the evidence points to Carly's husband or Abby's boyfriend, but in the end it's discovered that Abby killed Carly after finding out about her affair with Abby's boyfriend.

The B plot has Hodgins reeling after once again being turned down for marriage by Angela. After dwelling on his emotions, he realizes that he doesn't need to marry her to be happy. He asks her, by way of a message written in bioluminescent-bacteria-coated shrimp, to be his love. She immediately says yes, but then elaborates and states she'll marry him. Not next year or next month, but next week, and she wants a big wedding. Good thing she's marrying someone so financially sound (i.e. Filthy rich).

Food Episode
Hitchcoc22 January 2023
A common setting for modern murder mysteries involve food, often high profile chefs. A body is found, that of a young woman, and she is glowing. It turns out there is no radioactivity involved, so in addition to finding out who the victim is, the question is about the phosphorescence. It turns out she is a TV chef who is running an upscale restaurant with her husband and another couple involved. It is obvious to the gang that the husband is a loose cannon and there is conflict with his partner. It takes some serious investigation of the substance on the body to lead to a conclusion. Hodgins is depressed because of Angela's refusal. Bones and Boone continue to spar over the importance of marriage, she feeling it is a worthless, social norm with dire consequences.

Not the worst episode ever
katiealisonobrien6 June 2021
Mainly writing this cos I finally realised, after what was probably the 7 or 8th time watching this that AJ Buckley (Who plays Sonny Quinn in S. E. A. L team alongside David Boreanaz) is in this episode!

Also quite like Caleb Deschanel directing his daughter in this too :)
