Earlier today, the WWE Network sent a WrestleMania week email to subscribers advertising the streaming service’s full schedule and, in the process, confirmed this year’s entrant into the Hall of Fame’s celebrity wing – rapper/actor Snoop Dogg, who has been a longtime fan of the company and has been a part of WWE television broadcasts in the past.
Snoop made a memorable appearance at WrestleMania Xxiv, where he served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening’s Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjack match between the teams of Maria and Ashley Massaro and Beth Phoenix and Melina. After the match, Snoop clotheslined Maria’s jealous ex-boyfriend, Santino Marella, and kissed the Playboy covergirl. He returned to WWE as Raw guest host on October 19, 2009, where a scuffle with Chavo Guerrero saw Snoop take the former Cruiserweight Champion down with a clothesline and a tackle.

With WWE starting to promote the Royal Rumble, it means it’s almost WrestleMania season so I’m back with the next installment of my Fun Facts From Mania series and this time I’m here to talk about my experience in Orlando for WrestleMania Xxiv. You can click on my name down at the bottom and check out all of my previous adventures on holiday to the States for WrestleMania but 2008 was special because my buddy Mike came with me and I had a fellow wrestling fan with me. Finally I could make obscure and niche references on wrestling and they’d be understood. Huzzah!
This was my fifth year heading out to the good old Us of A for WrestleMania and with it being in such a touristy destination like Orlando, I was pretty excited about the trip. This was essentially going to be the Ric Flair weekend,...

Celebrity involvement in wrestling is nothing new. Actors, musicians and pro athletes have been making special appearances at WWE events since the first WrestleMania in 1985. Some have appeared because they’re genuine fans, while others were only there to promote their own agendas. Then there were the celebrities who actively took part in the show, and even stepped into the ring.
Arrow’s Stephen Amell teamed with Neville to defeat Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam. Floyd Mayweather took on the Big Show at WrestleMania Xxiv. Lawrence Taylor wrestled Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania XI. Hell, David Arquette is a former WCW Champion!
The results are usually hit-and-miss. Amell might have had a decent showing at SummerSlam but other times we got Roddy Piper versus Mr T and an appearance by Snooki. Perhaps it’s better if the guest star stays out of the ring, like Donald Trump did at WrestleMania 23.

When time was eventually called on the seemingly timeless career of one Ric Flair, there were tears in the eyes of millions. The beauty of wrestling is in believing, and even though it was clear Shawn Michaels was always going to win the showdown between the pair at WrestleMania Xxiv in retrospect, millions of people dared to believe that Flair could pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat, preserving his career for at least another match.
The storyline which called for the iconic grappler to retire the next time he lost a bout was perfect, a tremendous example of how simplicity can greatly enhance a story. The next evening on Monday Night Raw, the ‘Nature Boy’ cut a solemn figure, but also delivered an impassioned speech, stating clearly that he would never wrestle ever again.
It really seemed like a goodbye, but almost instantly wrestling fans were pulled from their dreamy slumber,...

Pro wrestling fans expect to see some of the killer moves when SummerSlam 2014 kicks off this Sunday. But besides the piledrivers and powerslams, you might also expect to see some famous faces in the audience. Hollywood stars could be on hand to catch the headlining grudge match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar at the pay-per-view event, as celebs having been attending—and sometimes participating in—bouts like this for years. Kim Kardashian acted as the host for WrestleMania Xxiv. Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul presented for one of WWE's Monday Night Raw specials. And Snoop Dogg was the Master of Ceremonies for the BunnyMania match. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, however,...

It is now official. Cm Punk is no longer an employee of the WWE. Cm Punk’s contract from the company has expired and he is now a free man. Cm Punk came into the WWE in 2005 making his main roster debut in 2006. From that point onward, he would gain millions of fans that admired his rebellious attitude towards authority and much more. More importantly though, Cm Punk is arguably one of the best wrestlers to have stepped foot inside the squared circle in the last decade or so. There’s a reason he calls himself ” The Best in the World”, because he really is that good.
Sadly, Cm Punk’s run in WWE ended so abruptly as he quit without saying a proper goodbye. The only type of goodbye Cm Punk said to his fans was only thanking them on Twitter. It would have been better if...

In the territory days of professional wrestling, whenever a talent had worn out their welcome in an area or was looking toward greener pastures elsewhere, one surefire way to necessitate the move while building interest in a feud was to book a loser leaves town match. The winner would remain active in the territory while the defeated wrestler would ply his trade elsewhere. Stipulations like these were commonplace in those times. Mick Foley tells a humorous story in his first book of giving away the result of a loser leaves town match he was participating in by showing up to the arena with all his luggage packed into his car.
When a rivalry has been taken to the next level and things have really gotten serious, a more risky stipulation is for a wrestler to put their entire career on the line. Two competitors square...

We are fast approaching the 30th annual WrestleMania event and it is the time of year when many wrestling fans look back on the famous event and revisit the moments that, for whatever reason, were memorable to them. Through the years there have been plenty of memorable moments at WrestleMania and dozens of wrestlers have carved themselves into the tree-bark of history with their performance on the grandest stage in professional wrestling. One of those wrestlers, of course, is the man who called himself “The Heartbreak Kid” and was labelled by fans and critics alike as “Mr WrestleMania”. That man is Shawn Michaels, and this DVD/Blu-ray package is about his legacy on WWE’s main stage.
Shawn Michaels made his WrestleMania debut as part of The Rockers tag team with Marty Jannetty to take on The Twin Towers in 1989 at the fifth annual show, and his last wrestling appearance...

Retirements in professional wrestling are largely running jokes. Very few take them seriously due to the fact that so many performers “retired” only to come back a short time later. This has had a negative effect on real retirements as well. People like Edge, who have legitimate medical issues, don’t get the benefit of the doubt any longer because their past colleagues have convinced the audience not to buy into any retirement angles.
This list is a look back at the retirements that may or may not have been taken seriously at the time but, when all was said and done, the worker had no intention of actually retiring. Some of the retirements received more press than others but all of them were supposed to be taken seriously at the time.

The History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment begins with Vince McMahon getting out of his car at WWE headquarters in Connecticut and greeting employees as he makes his way to his office on the top floor of what was once known as TitanTowers.
The documentary portion of this release begins at the beginning, with information about Jess McMahon and Vince McMahon Sr, and how they began what we now know as WWE. Jess McMahon was a boxing promoter, his son Vince, turned it into a traditional regional professional wrestling promotion, and his son, the current head of WWE, Vince McMahon Jr, turned it into the multimedia conglomerate that we know today.
The talking heads are extremely relevant and well picked, it is nice to see the big names from wrestling’s history on here, talking about the history of WWE as a company and the wrestling business as a whole.

Hosted by The Miz, the compilation features every Money in the Bank Ladder Match in history. The match debuted at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, quickly becoming a WrestleMania tradition and in 2010 proved so popular that it was given its own annual PPV event. Several top Superstars have been Money in the Bank winners including John Cena, Kane, Edge, Cm Punk (twice!), Rob Van Dam and many more. 11 of the first 12 winners have used the match as a springboard to winning a championship, and several times the match has helped a Superstar who has never win a World Championship break through to claim their first. Much like the Royal Rumble Match, the Money in the Bank match represents a golden opportunity for a Superstar to achieve immortality, and its entire lineage is presented here.
It is nice to see this match receive its own box-set release. The “Money in the Bank” concept...

Over the SummerSlam weekend I was in La for the pay per view event along with SummerSlam Axxess where 2K Games officially announced the roster for the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode. The storyline mode will take players through many of the greatest matches, rivalries and WrestleMania moments from history. As part of the weekend there was a special presentation from 2KGames which highlighted the game and allowed members of the press to give the game a test drive in anticipation of its release.
Undoubtedly the highlight of the game is the chance to relive some of the most iconic wrestling matches in history, and whilst a complete list of available matches available in the mode has yet to be revealed a good selection of classics has already been shown off to be in the game. At the presentation we were shown in depth footage of matches including Hulk Hogan against...

Watching WWE TV over the past couple of weeks, it seems remarkable to see Kane still wrestling at the top of his game in main event matches. After making his debut nearly 16 years ago, the “Big Red Machine” has fought nearly everyone in the WWE’s history and taken part in some classic moments along the way. Whether it was through the never-ending saga with his brother the Undertaker; dominating competitors and claiming multiple titles along the way; or some of the more lighthearted moments that have arisen in his career, Kane has established himself as an obvious future Hall of Famer, having entertained millions for years.
While there are multiple moments from such an established career that you could pick out as being some of his best, here are ten of the very greatest moments so far.
10. Ecw Championship, Wrestlemania Xxiv (2008)
After seemingly being left of the Wrestlemania Xxiv card,...

Reid Flair has tragically died aged just 25. He was the son of Ric Flair and his second wife Elizabeth. The cause of Reid’s death is currently unknown, though police have reported that he was found dead in a Charlotte hotel room.
Ric’s agent released a statement on behalf of the family:
“We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric’s son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away today March 29.
“Reid was 25 and an incredible son, brother, friend, and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time.”
During high school, Reid was an accomplished amateur wrestler who won numerous awards. Reid followed his father into wrestling in 1998 when he appeared for World Championship Wrestling. He defeated Eric Bischoff in his first match for the company and in 2000 teamed with his father in a match against...

Everyone's favorite socialite Kim Kardashian turns 31 on Friday (Oct. 21).
It's been an interesting life for the one-time Paris Hilton sidekick. Over the past few years, she's become internationally famous, starred in a highly-rated reality show and achieved wealth that many of us could only dream of.
In honor of Kim turning 31, we've compiled a list of 31 of her career highlights and lowlights.
1. Her sex tape with Ray J which catapulted her to fame.
2. She launched a music career, or perhaps better put, the singular song "Jam."
3. Sued Old Navy for using someone who looked like her (Melissa Molinaro) in their commercials.
4. Had a two-part, four-hour wedding extravaganza on E! that drew a combined 8.4 million viewers.
5. Served as guest hostess of WrestleMania Xxiv.
6. Had a wedding that cost a reported $20 million.
7. Launched the ill-fated Kardashian Kard which was quickly sacked for charging excessive fees.
8. Got her own wax figure at New York's Madame Tussauds.

As you may have noticed recently, the WWE and Owf have joined forces to create a heavy-weight tag-team the likes of which hasn’t been seen since The Natural Disasters burst onto the professional brawling scene in 1991.
The latest title we have the pleasure of reviewing is WWE – Top 50 Superstars of All Time, which is available to buy from today on DVD. And by the beard of Macho Man Randy Savage it’s a good ‘un.
The format is as simple as it is familiar in these list compilations: teaming up archive footage with talking head evaluations of each of the top fifty superstars, with an extended dedication to each of the top five choices, WWE Top 50 Superstars of All Time may not be the definitive list- as it is necessarily as subjective as all of these list features will always be- but it is certainly a well put together,...

Spike TV is re-igniting the wrestling wars.
The cable network is moving its "Tna Impact" franchise up against USA's top-rated "Monday Night Raw."
Starting on March 8, the two-hour "Impact" will move from Thursdays to air head-to-head against USA's program, most notably echoing the Monday Night Wars of 1995-2001, when WWF's "Raw" faced WCW's "Monday Nitro." The typically taped "Impact" also will air live telecasts every other week; "Raw" always airs live.
"We feel that's strongly that Monday nights is where the majority of wrestling viewers have been historically," Tna president Dixie Carter said. "Having two Monday night wrestling shows with healthy competition between them can make for great TV."
Spike has done a pair of Monday night test runs, most recently last month, which featured the debut of the franchise's new host, wrestling icon Hulk Hogan. The special drew 2.2 million viewers, considerably higher than Tna's usual 1.6 million average, butt couldn't pin "Raw,...
