Almost the whole of India witnessed the much awaited India-Pakistan World Cup T20 match over the weekend. There were many who were simply touched by Amitabh Bachchan's soul stirring rendition of our national anthem before the commencement of the match. However, the latest update is that, a Delhi-based lawyer has now lodged a police complaint at New Ashok Nagar police station in East Delhi against Amitabh Bachchan (a copy of the same is available with Bollywood Hungama), in which he has remarked that Amitabh Bachchan had 'stretched' the national anthem by around 30 seconds, which was apparently violation of guidelines. To be more specific, Amitabh Bachchan's rendition of the national anthem lasted for 1 minute and 22 seconds (as against the 52 seconds approximately according to the guidelines of Ministry of Home Affairs). Readers may recall that, just a few days back, there were reports against Amitabh Bachchan, stating that he had charged a whopping Rs.

The BBC's coverage of the raid on Sir Cliff Richard's house has been nominated for Scoop of the Year at the Royal Television Society Television Journalism Awards 2013/14.
The singer's home was searched by South Yorkshire Police in August following allegations of historical sex abuse - claims that have been described as as "completely false" by Richard.
Both the BBC and South Yorkshire Police were criticised over the coverage, prompting a Home Affairs Select Committee inquiry. The report stated that police should not have cooperated with the BBC after a journalist discovered information about the search.

I admit it: I love cyber-punk. Mostly of a Shadowrun flavor. But like many geeks who came of age in the early millennium, I also cut my teeth on the burgeoning American fascination with anime. “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” “Akira,” "Battle Angel Alita," "Armitage III," and of course, “Ghost in the Shell.” So when rumor had it that Hollywood wanted to bring Motoko Kusanagi, the Puppet Master, and their world of New Port City to life, I was cautious. After all, this was the same town that tried to make “Akira” with Michael Fassbender and Andrew Garfield until George Takei stepped in to point out whitewashing is not okay. And we shall not talk about the "Dragonball" movie. It is stricken from the record. Turns out my caution was well founded. As of today, Scarlett Johansson is officially signed on to play the lead in the live action “Ghost in the Shell.

Russell Brand Calls For Drug Law Change
Funnyman Russell Brand has called for a drastic overhaul of drugs policy in the U.K., urging politicians to decriminalise illicit substances and help addicts become useful members of society.
The former alcoholic and heroin addict was invited to share his experiences at a House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee hearing into Britain's drug policies taking place in London on Tuesday.
He told the hearing his drug demons had forced him to become a criminal in order to fund his habit, and insisted the scourge of addiction can only be tackled if sufferers are treated with "compassion".
Brand told the committee, "I became a drug addict, I think, because of emotional difficulties, psychological difficulties, and perhaps a spiritual malady. For me, taking drugs and excessive drinking were the result of a psychological, spiritual or mental condition.
"I was sad, lonely, unhappy, detached, and drugs and alcohol, to me, seemed like a solution to that problem... I was a criminal when I was a drug addict by virtue of my addiction and the ways that I had to acquire money to get drugs... Criminality is a necessary component.
"Now, of course we are not saying forget the victims but I'm saying it's better to address the social situation pragmatically and I think we all know this... We need to change the laws in this country and have a more compassionate, altruistic, loving attitude to the people with the disease of addiction."...
